Rebellion Developments have confirmed today that Sniper Elite 5 will arrive on Game Pass the same day it arrives on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, the Epic Games Store, and Steam. That'll be sometime later in 2022, although we still don't have an exact release date.

The announcement also comes with a brand-new trailer showcasing some of the new features coming to Sniper Elite 5, such as sliding down a sloped roof and the new Invasion PvP mode. Similar to Dark Souls and Deathloop, players can invade other players' campaigns as enemy snipers turning any level into a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Sniper Elite 5 brings the longstanding series forward to 1944. Lieutenant Karl Fairburne of the SOE is sent to France to support allied operations against the Nazi's Atlantikwall. Stranded behind enemy lines, Fairburne links up with the French Resistance and discovers a Nazi plot that could turn the tide of war. The player will make their way through high-ranking Nazi officers to discover the goal of Operation Kraken and how to stop it.

The latest entry into the Sniper Elite series offers several new mobility options like zip-lines and slides, as well as customization options for a wide array of WW2 weaponry. Stocks, barrels, magazines, and more will offer differing firearm performance as you tear your way through the Nazi officer corps.

Sniper Elite 5 will also feature up to 16-player multiplayer games, campaign co-op, 3-player co-op survival mode, and the new Invasion Mode where you try to kill other players during the campaign. Or as Karl Fairburne, you can send out a request to have other players help you take down Nazis together.

We still don't know when Sniper Elite 5 will arrive, but it'll be sometime this year. In the meantime, you can check out Sniper Elite 4's next-gen upgrade package, and try Sniper Elite VR on the Oculus.
