Snoop Dogg Is So Hyped For The Spyro Reignited Trilogy, He's Getting A Copy Delivered By A Spyro-Drone

Well, this is a curious one. As we speak, a Spyro-drone is flying across the United States to deliver a copy of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy to Snoop Dogg.

There are some double acts you just can’t argue with. Peanut butter and chocolate, say, or Spider-Man and Mary Jane (okay, they’re both quite controversial picks, but you get the idea). On the other hand, there are some that you just cannot understand at all, ever, and Snoop Dogg and Spyro is one of them.

Let’s just back up a little and see how this whole thing came about. It started, as Eurogamer reports, with a simple tweet from the official Spyro the Dragon account:

Four days later, Snoop D-O-double-G registered his interest in the upcoming remaster in the snoopiest of snoop-ways:

In response to that, the Spyro team tweeted back, assuring the aging rapper that they were coming to his rescue. They posted a map, assuring him that they’d make a trip from New York City to Los Angeles to deliver Snoop a copy of the game. Or, rather, a Spyro-drone was on the way.

That’s right, friends. All of this is 100% actually happening. You can follow the highlights of Spyro’s journey to Snoop over on the Twitter page. It’s a little like how some people track Santa’s journey at Christmas, only it’s just beyond hilariously ridiculous.

Having said that, it’s not entirely out of left field (about 99.9%, but not entirely). Snoop does have some experience with video games, having featured in a range of titles from True Crime: Streets of LA (in which you can play as him in an unlockable mode, as You Found A Secret reports) to Way of the Dogg, another title featuring his likeness. He showed off his famous Spyro tee as well, so there's some kind of history there. Apparently.

At the time of writing, Spyro is a week into his journey and has just hit the halfway point. The game is set to launch on November 13th, and is looking like a faithful and loving-prepared take on the trilogy that old fans will love. The rest of us aren’t Snoop Dogg and won’t have it flown to us by Spyro himself, but it’s sure to be a hit nonetheless.
