Pokemon Legends: Arceus launched yesterday, and fans are already discovering all of its secrets. Whether this is through exploring or actually completing tasks, there's a whole bunch for you to get up to in the highly anticipated spin-off. But this latest find probably wasn't intended by the developers at all.Snorlax, a Pokemon not best known for its speed, has been spotted zooming across the map at impossible speeds. It seems that if players can bait the large lad into charging into a wall, then it will keep building up all the speed it should be using. This means that as soon as Snorlax breaks free, it will unleash all of this built-up momentum at once - just like a backwards long jump seen in Mario 64 speedrunning.As you can see in the clip below, Snorlax runs off at such a breakneck speed that it ends up on top of a tree, somehow. I have no idea how on earth it is supporting its weight, or how Snorlax can even climb. But it happened, and this is a pretty good way to get away from an unfriendly 'mon that seems hellbent on taking you down.
Fingers crossed, this doesn't get patched out. Not only for its utility in evading combat, but also because it's a nice 'lil throwback to our days playing Mario 64 and skipping about 99 percent of the game.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus appears to be a hit so far, with both fans are critics alike praising it as a return to form for the series. It sits at an 85 on Metacritic at the time of writing, with user reviews set to open up later today. But feedback from players is positive so far, with the game largely seen as a breath of fresh air that offers a new spin on the old, familiar Pokemon game formula.
