Please forgive the following pun: SnowRunner has loads of content. Countless missions, maps, and points of interest make this a transportation sim you can really sink your tires into. But, more than anything else, what keeps SnowRunner engaging after countless hours of play is the wide selection of fully realized vehicles. Even before multiple waves of DLC, the game was packed with both licensed trucks based on real-world models and original creations dreamed up by Saber Interactive.

SnowRunner divides these vehicles into five categories based on what situations they excel in. A Scout, for instance, is your best option if you want to quickly check out the terrain of a route without the risk of getting stuck. Likewise, a truck from the Heavy class is the way to go if you need to transport a massive amount of cargo.

10 The DLC Truck Perfect For Scouting: KHAN 39 Marshall

KHAN 39 Marshall in SnowRunner

SnowRunner may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of open-world games, but spend a bit of time exploring a region in the Khan 39 Marshall, and you'll see that each map is packed with hidden activities and unique landmarks.

With all-wheel drive, a powerful engine, and tires that allow you to easily travel through deep mud, the Khan 39 is one of the best Scout trucks available for traversing the snow-free Michigan region. Since the Khan 39 is a DLC vehicle, it’s accessible at the very start of the game, making it ideal for navigating the dirt roads and muddy terrain of the Black River and Smithville Dam maps.

You’ll need to purchase the High Roller Pack if you want to add the Khan 39 Marshall to your garage. (This pack is also included in the game’s Year One Season Pass.)

9 Master Of The Highway: GMC MH9500

GMC MH9500 in SnowRunner

Of the three Highway trucks in SnowRunner, the GMC MH9500 is the most versatile. Unlike the Ford CLT9000 and International Transtar 4070A, the MH9500 can be upgraded with all-wheel drive and differential lock. Considering that SnowRunner is nothing if not a tribute to rough terrain, having access to these modifications that help with a bit of offroading is a major pro for GMC’s Highway vehicle.

That said, paved roads are where the GMC MH9500 is truly without equal. With the fastest top speed in the Highway category and solid fuel economy, this truck will reliably get you to your destination — without needing a refuel on the way.

You’ll receive a GMC MH9500 when you complete the “First Truck” task. Or you can purchase one in-game for 26,300 dollars.

8 Super Heavy, Super Effective: Pacific P16

Pacific P16 in SnowRunner

If you need to haul logs, there’s no better option than the Pacific P16. With differential lock always on and tires that are perfect for muddy routes, this is a Heavy truck that you’ll want to add to your garage as soon as it becomes available. It’s not a good choice for narrow or icy roads, but give it the space it needs, and you’ll be moving small forests in no time at all.

A free Pacific P16 is located in the Drummond Island map in Michigan. It doesn’t require any repairs when you find it. You can also purchase a Pacific P16 for 140,700 dollars.

7 Early Game Heavy Duty With Loads of Potential: Fleetstar F2070A

Fleetstar F2070A in SnowRunner

While the Fleetstar F207A is nothing special when you first acquire it, once upgraded it becomes a capable Heavy Duty truck that can complete most jobs in SnowRunner’s first few maps. It’s also on the more durable side, meaning you’ll have some room for error as you’re getting used to the transportation sim’s precise driving mechanics.

You can add this well-rounded vehicle to your personal fleet after finding and repairing it in the garage parking area in the Michigan region’s Black River map. Both its all-wheel drive and raised suspension modifications are also located in Black River, so go after them early in your playthrough to get the most out of the Fleetstar F207A.

6 An Adaptable Offroader: Voron Grad

Voron Grad in SnowRunner

The Voron Grad is all about control. Boasting one of the largest fuel tanks in its class, this is a reliable Offroad truck that can also handle highway travel. Even without any upgrades, the Grad allows you to toggle all-wheel drive and differential lock. This feature allows you to conserve fuel on the highway without preventing you from going all out in muddy areas.

The Voron Grad doesn’t become available until you reach rank 18, so expect to put in a good few hours before you have access to it.

5 Heavy Truck With Maximized Cargo Capacity: Western Star 6900 TwinSteer

Western Star 6900 TwinSteer in SnowRunner

The Western Star 6900 TwinSteer is a massive vehicle that's your best bet if you’re trying to haul an equally massive amount of cargo in one go. With a capacity of four cargo units, no other truck in SnowRunner can carry as large of a load without attaching additional equipment.

It’s not an easy vehicle to get through tight spots, but if you have mountains to move and a clear route in mind, this Heavy truck is your best choice.

You can obtain a free 6900 TwinSteer by completing the “No Country for Old Truck” task in the Island Lake map in Michigan. Alternatively, you can purchase it for 118,200 dollars.

4 Time-Tested Heavy Duty Vehicle: White Western Star 4964

White Western Star 4964 in SnowRunner

Available early in your SnowRunner playthrough, the White Western Star 4964 is a long-hauler that grows with you. While it’s only really suited for highway travel when you first add it to your garage, put the time in to hunt down its upgrades, and you’ll have one of the most dependable vehicles in the game. With a sizable fuel tank, a fully modified 4964 can take on mud, snow, and anything else you throw at it.

You’ll receive the Western Star as a reward if you finish the “Fixer Upper” mission in Smithville Dam, Michigan. Or you could purchase one for 48,800 dollars while you’re in the region.

3 The Deep Freeze Juggernaut: Azov 42-20 Antarctic

Azov 42-20 Antarctic in SnowRunner

In the hands of a seasoned player, the Azov 42-20 Antarctic is an exceptional vehicle. If you’re able to master its great size and unconventional steering, this Heavy truck rewards you with the power to glide through deep mud and water.

Despite what its name suggests, the 42-20 Antarctic doesn’t fare well on icy roads since it cannot be equipped with chained tires. Basically, it’s phenomenal in muddy regions like Michigan and Taymyr, but a poor choice for Alaska or the snowy DLC regions.

Likely one of the last vehicles you’ll unlock, the 42-20 Antarctic isn’t available until you reach rank 26. It also costs 140,700 dollars, so try not to drive it into a lake.

2 The Scout Fit for Any Terrain: TUZ 420 "Tatarin"

TUZ 420 "Tatarin" in SnowRunner

With a unique design that makes you wish this vehicle was real and the best mud tires in the game, the TUZ 420 “Tatarin” is a Scout designed to steadily navigate through even the most treacherous offroad routes. Although it can’t be used to tow trailers without the use of a winch, the TUZ 420 more than makes up for this shortcoming due to its superior performance in mud and snow.

You can obtain a “Tatarin” by completing the “Pacifist” task in the Rift map in Taymyr. Alternatively, the Scout vehicle can be picked up in the Zimnegorsk area — also in Taymyr.

1 The Offroad Truck That Won't Let You Down: Tayga 6436

Tayga 6436 in SnowRunner

Slow and steady wins the race. Now drop the “slow” part and what you’re left with is the Tayga 6436. With an always-on differential lock, this is an offroader that treats muddy terrain like paved road — especially once you’ve added the TMHS mud tires and lifted the suspension. This Offroad truck also has enough power to rescue vehicles stuck in the mud, making it good to have in your fleet for when a job gets tricky.

Completing the “SOS” task in the Drowned Lands area of Tamyr will unlock a Tayga 6436. It costs 76,900 dollars if you want to acquire one through more traditional means.
