This week’s seasonal quest had guardians kill Quria, the Blade Transform, in order to free The Last City from its endless night. And now that she’s dead, it’s time for Destiny 2 players to get some fun in the sun thanks to the return of the Solstice of Heroes event.
Just like last year, Eva Levante will return to the Tower to hand out quests and bounties like they're going out of style. What never goes out of style is the new Solstice of Heroes armor which you'll upgrade as part of the event. Fully upgraded armor will glow in the color of your selected elemental subclass.
This year's armor looks less like it's failing to contain an eruption of glow sticks and more like those glow sticks are an integral part of the armor itself. No complaints here.
Bungie's event page didn't provide all the details, but if it's anything like last year, Eva will provide you with a set of broken-down armor that you'll spend the remainder of the event repairing by completing various challenges that are listed on the armor itself. Finish them all and the whole set will upgrade Sailor Moon-style into something way more stylish.
The European Aerial Zone once again sets sail over the skies of former Europe. You'll have a limited time to murder enemies and finally a boss before making off with as many Solstice Packages and Solstice Key Fragments as possible.
To sweeten the deal, there's a new Legendary Shotgun, four new Exotic Ghost Shells, a new emblem, a new ship, and a new Sparrow to unlock over the course of the event.
Solstice of Heroes arrives next Tuesday, July 6.
Also arriving Tuesday is Vault of Glass Master Difficulty. This brings the enemy power level up to 1350 for an especially challenging raid but also brings all-new rewards. There's a brand new ship to unlock as part of the final Triumphs required for the Fatebreaker raid Seal, as well as the Timelost versions of the Vault of Glass raid weapons. These operate much the same as the Adept weapons from Grandmaster Nightfalls and Trials of Osiris but get two perks in columns three and four for even better customization.
