Once again, the internet is buzzing with hype (and hope) that a new Hideo Kojima game is on its way. This time, it's because of a new trailer for a PlayStation 5 game by the name of Abandoned which just released yesterday.

The developer is listed as Blue Box Game Studios, but that hasn't deterred some sceptical fans out there who have collected a bunch of "clues" which suggest that this could be another P.T.-esque scenario, where the game is marketed under a fake studio name. But just as soon as these speculations have arisen, they have unfortunately been shut down.

Some of the more promising clues were that a "Playable Teaser" of sorts is alluded to in the video's description, and that the studios' website is really weird with only the studio logo and the message "We will be right back!" populating it at the moment. Oh right, as well as the big glaring disclaimer paragraph entitled "Our response to the Hideo Kojima Rumors," of course.

"We have no association with Hideo Kojima nor do we claim to have any association nor was it our intention to claim such a statement," the disclaimer reads. "We are a small group of developers working on a passionate title we wanted to work on for a long time....We hope this has clarified this matter and hope to see you all in our very first gameplay reveal of Abandoned."

So yeah, that pretty much puts the matter to bed doesn't it?

But don't worry, things aren't all quiet in Kojima Land. Reports have also surfaced that suggest Kojima could be "in talks" with Microsoft to publish his next game, which would be a change of pace after the initially PS4-exclusive Death Stranding. This hasn't been confirmed in any official capacity yet, however.

Kojima Productions' art director Yoji Shinkawa also recently mentioned that an announcement for something that they have been working on ought to surface "quite soon." Albeit super vague, we can't help but be a tad excited by all this.
