A bunch of people got the chance to play Sonic Frontiers this week, meaning we have a few more details on the mysterious open-world game. And while for the most part, it was more of the same, one new feature was finally officially confirmed: fishing with Big the Cat. In between dashing around the Open Zone and taking on Cyber Space levels, Sonic will be able to kick back and relax with everyone's favourite feline friend, catching and documenting all of the fish the area has to offer. Better yet, these fishing segments are even accompanied by a lo-fi beat, making it the perfect way to relax if a boss is stressing you out.Related: How Did Sonic Frontiers Become My Most Anticipated Game Of 2022?Clips from the fishing minigame are circulating online, after some players got the chance to demo more of the game this week. While this gave us a long-awaited look at some of the other islands in Frontiers, it appears that fishing with Big stole the show - particularly because of its soundtrack.

Some fans have even noticed that the jingle that plays when Sonic catches a fish is exactly the same one that was used in Sonic Adventure's fishing minigame. Big the Cat levels weren't the most loved in Adventure, so it's interesting to see that Sega is still calling back to them - and that fans remember them so well.

Unsurprisingly, any acknowledgement that the Adventure games exist has made fans happy. Any sort of allusion to these games is taken as confirmation that a third Adventure game is on the way, so we can only imagine the state of the fanbase if Frontiers is full of more references like this.

Sonic Frontiers is set to launch November 8. It will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
