The creators of the upcoming live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie are embracing the criticism they have received for the little they have revealed so far.

The latest franchise to jump on the live-action movie bandwagon is Sonic the Hedgehog. If you haven't seen or heard about the very limited amount of information that has been divulged about the movie so far, you really are missing out. We know a little about the actors and the setting, and a whole lot about Sonic's weirdly muscular legs.

A couple of weeks ago, the creators of the movie gave us our very first look at what real-life Sonic is going to look like. All we got was a silhouette of the speedy hedgehog, but it was enough to give us all nightmares. For some reason, Sonic is covered in fur. Weird, and it gets weirder. It would seem as if Sonic's limbs are akin to those of a real human being.

A few days later we got a good look at those legs via a leaked movie poster. The movie makers then opened themselves up to even more criticism due to the image used looking like it had been taken from the perspective of Sonic's crotch. Ever since then, people have been poking fun at the film, due for release in November 2019, via images of their own.

Turns out the minds behind turning Sonic into some sort of animated hedgehog-human hybrid actually find the whole situation pretty entertaining. An official Twitter account has been created for the movie and it seems as if it was made for the sole purpose of retweeting fan creations mocking 2019's version of Sonic. Our personal favorite is the one above which is pinned to the top of the Sonic Movie's timeline.

What will be interesting to see is how the reaction and backlash change the creators' plans, if at all. We would assume that even though the movie is not due for release until November of next year, much of the legwork has already been done and yes, pun very much intended. They are likely hoping that by poking fun at themselves, Sonic fans and moviegoers will forget how horrifying they have made their fast blue hero.
