The promotional material for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has been a hit so far. The Sonic vs Knuckles showdown looks fantastic in the trailers, and we're even seeing more elements from the games introduced compared to the first film. The only hitch has been the poster, which omitted two actresses - including the voice of Tails. But once again, it looks like the studio has listened to fans. The poster has been updated to list both Colleen O'Shaughnessey and Tika Sumpter. This means every actor on the poster is rightfully credited, alongside stars such as Jim Carrey and Idris Elba.Related: Video Game Movies Are Good Now, ActuallyPerhaps the best thing about this is that it's a rare instance of seeing a voice actor, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, with their name next to Hollywood stars. Of course, it's becoming more of a rarity to even see voice actors cast in blockbusters at all, as even if they play the same character in other media, they're likely to be recast with a bigger name when it comes to the film. Looking at you, Chris Pratt.

While Sonic and Knuckles are recast for the movie, it's notable that O'Shaughnessey is actually the voice of Tails in the games too. It remains to be seen if other members of the Sonic cast are given the same treatment, as they're likely to be introduced in both the film's sequel, and the Knuckles-centred spin-off show.

This is welcome news at a time when we're seeing voice actors undervalued. As was recently reported, John DiMaggio, the voice of Bender, hasn't been confirmed for the new Futurama run after he was allegedly "lowballed" in negotiations. He rejected the initial offer because he felt that the whole cast should be paid more, and so far, it seems that the studios' response is to attempt to recast Bender - after over two decades in the role. Considering the outpouring of support DiMaggio has received from fellow actors, it's unlikely that they'll find a big name willing to replace him.
