The excitement elicited by the Nintendo Direct last night only continues come September 12th. The Tokyo Games Show, as so exemplified by Sony's newly released lineup, will feature some heavy hitters and some surprise winners, as well. The event will be held in Chiba, Japan and span over a five day period, with the first two specifically for business and the final three days open to the public.

While highly anticipated titles, such as Death Stranding and Cyberpunk 2077, will be in attendance, there are also plenty more surprises to come, such as Star Ocean on the Switch and even PlayStation VR's Deemo Reborn. The amount of hype and praise heaped on VR at PAX West will only be intensified and expounded upon even further at Makuhari Messe.

Some of the more exciting games available to play at the Tokyo Game Show include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, FIFA 20, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Genshin Impact, MediEvil, Persona 5 Royal, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. There are loads more to choose from, as even VR titles, like Marvel's Iron Man VR, Concrete Genie, and Throw Anything, will also be playable.

As for trailers, nearly every game in attendance will have an accompanying trailer to show off their enticing titles. The ones we're extremely excited for include Star Ocean: First Departure R, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Marvel's Avengers, Dreams, Contra: Rogue CorpsGhost Recon: Breakpoint, Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Of course, even the planned live events are enticing, what with Death Stranding, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Gran Turismo Sport, Nioh 2, and even Call of Duty: Modern Warfare all set to take the stage.

Despite the fact that Borderlands 3, Death Stranding, and Cyberpunk 2077 will steal the show this year, there's still plenty of amazing games waiting to be announced and explored that appear just as—if not more—mesmerizing than their more anticipated counterparts. With Animal Crossing now on the Switch, there's no mistaking that this is one interesting time to be a gamer.
