In Soul Hackers 2, one of the best ways to find the needed materials to boost your team's Summoner COMP, and find enough money to fully enjoy the Neo-Tokyo-inspired Cyberpunk world is by completing Requests. There are a bunch of them, so we compiled a list of our favorites.
The list is mainly based on the rewards you can get, as story-wise it is subjective. Keep in mind that three of the side quests we put in aren’t available until after you defeat the Boss in the West Shipping District. We’ll let you know which ones you will have to complete before then as we go forward.
Now let's get into it and find out which Requests you need to pick up to get the most out of Soul Hackers 2.
10 Phantom Of The Night
Most of the Requests you receive in the game come from Club Cretaceous, and we’ll start with the Phantom of the Night Request that you receive from Masayoshi. It’s a fairly early request, with it only being a level 9.
After finding out about the Phantom of Miasma from the woman in red, you’ll need to head to Karakucho. There you’ll find a woman near the Breaking Mart that will unlock the final section of the East Shipping District. Once you get there you’ll encounter Mad Gasser, it’s weak to Ice, and if you’re lucky enough it’ll drop a Totem Memory, that you can use for COMP upgrades. Once you return to Masayoshi you’ll receive the Gas Mask accessory.
9 Does Aion Dream Of Electric Sheep?
This is the first of three of the aforementioned Requests that aren’t available until after defeating the West Shipping District Boss, so make sure to complete it as early as you can. Flamma will give you the side quest and to complete the quest you’ll need to head over to the Heidrun Bar in Shinsando, here you’ll find a male NPC in a black coat that will point you to the Mansei Realm.
Once you arrive, you will find the hooded NPC that has a COMP to give you. A pretty easy task to complete. Once you’re done go to Flamma and receive the Tree of Life accessory, plus a new Hangout Event.
8 The Gunsmith
If you want to increase your COMP upgrades, don’t forget to take on any of Tatara’s Requests. They might not be as complicated, and pretty repetitive to take on, but they offer new upgrades. So it’s worth your time.
This Request unlocks Surveillance Scan I, which helps you reveal enemy weaknesses at the beginning of a battle. You’ll need to take out three Qing Longs using fire attacks as finishers.
7 Mock The Invisible World
Victor is one of the first Requesters that shells out a good amount of cash your way. Once you complete his request, you’ll find yourself with an extra 50000 yen in your account. The master of ceremonies loves to send out Requests that involve bringing back demons for him to test on.
Bring him a Koppa Tengu and not only will you receive ¥50,000, but you’ll also get a 5% discount on all Compendium summonings. Pretty neat if you ask us.
6 Raiders Of The Lost Gift
For all your consumables, you know you need to talk to Yume, and even though she’s full of energy, she is also pretty unlucky when it comes to her possessions. That’s where you come in. Make your way to Subway Line 14 and look for the item Yume lost. Here you’ll meet a Lilim in the Upper Area. Take it out by using Ice as much as your MP permits it, and it will be a walk in the park.
Now that you’ve helped Yume in her daily life, she’ll help you out as well by giving you discounts from the shop.
5 Story Of Your Love
The second of the three limited requests that you need to complete is Story of Your Love, given to you by Flamma. The request is available only after completing Lady on the Mind, but you’ll probably have done it already at this point.
Find Teruya’s friend near the Cretaceous and after talking to them find Teruya’s lover Chris in the Shipping District. She’ll tell you to go towards Subway 14 to find Teruya. Once you’ve found him there you can head back to Club Cretaceous, where you’ll find him and Chris. Talk to them again and return to Flamma. Flamma will give you the Mark of Cain accessory at the end of your lovers' hunt.
4 Hopes, Dreams, And Aion
The last of the quests that need to be completed before defeating the West Shipping District Boss is Hopes, Dreams, and Aion. Flamma is always there to give out information to you in the most objective matter, and here they help you find a Babel Shard, and if you’re lucky enough a Totem Memory (these are important for COMP upgrades).
Go to Tower C of the Ozaki Hope Towers and defeat Pazuzu (remember that it’s weak to Ice, but it absorbs Force). Once you’ve done that talk to the NPC in the Mansei Realm that’s waiting in front of Tatara’s smithy. Now you can go back to Flamma and receive your tasty rewards.
3 The Heartbreaker
When you think about a Heartbreaker in Soul Hackers 2 who comes to mind if not Saizo, or Ash? The two unlucky lovers are the characters behind this Request.
The mission itself is pretty easy to follow. Talk to Ash in the Roppo Realm, and after that go to the Hang Out event with Saizo. Nothing too wild, and at the end, you’ll receive nothing other than the Skull Ring. One of the best accessories in-game.
2 Dark Knight Rises
Even though when you think about a Dark Knight, you’re mostly thinking about Batman, in Soul Hackers 2 The Dark Knight is more cult-like. Talk to Masayoshi that’s trying to investigate a cult and start talking to NPCs in the area. At a certain point, you’ll receive a message about an Occult Journalist.
At this point, you’ll find Mei and Ren in front of the Breaking Mart, and you’ll make your way to the Municipal tower where you’ll talk to a Decarabia and keep going forward until you start a fight with a Dominion and Throne. The first one is weak to Physical and Ruin, and the second is weak to Guns but repels Fire, Ice, and Electric. Once you’re done find your way back to Masayoshi and receive the Messenger Robe.
1 Tribute And Worship
More than a side quest, this is the final battle in the DLC. After completing Homecoming you’ll find the Tribute and Worship request opens up. This is the most lucrative request in-game.
Meet with Shogetsu at Hachigaya, and he’ll give you Daikokuten Sake. You need this item to have Ganesha remove the barrier on B15. Here you’ll encounter a whole array of high-level demons, we’re talking Level 70 up to 95. If you make it down to B20 you’ll meet the final boss of the DLC. Defeat it to receive ¥5,000,000 yen and the Platinum Ring. It's a tough fight but if you have been completing other requests as you go it shouldn't be too hard.
