The wait is over. Defending champion South Korea has named their 12-man roster for the 2019 Overwatch World Cup. The overwhelming amount of talent on the team this year points to a possible championship victory once again. The roster of 12 is varied, with every player coming from an Overwatch League team including New York Excelsior, San Francisco Shock, Philadelphia Fusion, Vancouver Titans, and more.

South Korea's tank line is easily the strongest in the pool of teams with Mano, Choihyobin, and Jjanu all dominating in the OWL this year. Jjanu is an MVP finalist, while Mano and Choihyobin had the performances to back up the argument for them being finalists as well. Mano and Jjanu will most likely be the starting two and, aside from Team China's Guxue, Mano is possibly the best main tank in Overwatch League.

Coming as a surprise to no one, the DPS players for South Korea are absolutely stacked. Carpe was an MVP candidate in the inaugural season of OWL and dominated on Widowmaker. While his play hasn't been as up to par this year (partly because of being stuck on Zarya for the majority of the season,) he is still capable of completely taking over a game with clutch kills on Widowmaker and others. Haksal is arguably the best Genji in the world at the moment, and with the emergence of the 2-2-2 role lock, has had the opportunity to showcase what he is truly made of. Architect, Decay, and Nenne are all extremely capable DPS as well, and will look to make an impact when they get the chance.

While the support line is fantastic for South Korea this year, it's worth noting that neither former OWL MVP and OWWC MVP Jjonak or this season's MVP candidate Twilight are in the lineup. Jjonak emerged as a force to be reckoned with last year and Twilight has consistently dominated all year as the Vancouver Titans have the best record in the league. South Korea is more than capable of filling those gaps with Kariv, who is arguably the best Ana player in the world, and the likes of Anamo, Bdosin, and IDK.

There is no doubt that South Korea is the favorite again for the 2019 Overwatch World Cup. Since its inception in 2016, they have won every year. With a possible win at this year's World Cup, South Korea is looking for the four-peat and to continue to solidify themselves as the dominant country when it comes to playing Overwatch. The roster is there. The swagger is there. World Cup Champion is South Korea's title to lose.

A champion will be crowned November 2nd.
