SpellPunk VR, the comic-book-inspired competitive spellcasting game, has received its largest update ever in its two months of Early Access. The “Mad Mage Warrior” update includes extensive gameplay improvements and new content for the multiplayer virtual reality combat game.

The “Mad Mage Warrior” update also introduces more dangerous bot enemies in a new single-player mode, and offers players a deeper insight into the vibrant and magical SpellPunk VR world. Developer and publisher Incineration Productions heard the voices of its player base and included many of their recommendations in this update.

SpellPunk VR is a first-person virtual reality game where players become mighty magicians with incredible powers, dueling against other spellcasters in a dazzlingly immersive world. This new update helps players understand their role and powers even better by providing them three new offensive spells and one defensive spell right at the start.

A newly-enhanced Training Mode is now available to help players learn how to cast and use their recently-acquired spells. The dev team has given Training Mode an entirely new look and feel, and introduced a new method for unlocking spells, where they are gained once the initial spells have been mastered.

In order to better prepare players for the challenge of dueling another player, the single-player experience has been revamped and updated. Three new AI bots have been added, each with their own unique strengths to test players’ mana-manipulating prowess.

SpellPunk VR players on Steam now have the option to skip the matchmaking system and directly challenge their friends to arcane duels. On both Steam and Viveport platforms, the game has received multiple cosmetic upgrades, improvements to character style, intuitive UX and UI changes, and a fresh battle scene color palette.

Until July 9th, 2020, SpellPunk VR is available at a 75% discount; players with a Viveport Infinity subscription may play the game at no additional cost. SpellPunk VR can currently be played on the Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift S, HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro, Vive Cosmos, and Vive Cosmos Elite. Valve Index and other VR device support are expected to be added in the future.
