While the reveal trailer for SpellPunk VR gave a brief glance at what players might be able to expect in the frantic competitive spellcasting virtual reality game, the launch trailer provides a deeper look into the abilities and strategies that players will need to utilize to emerge victorious.
Available now in Viveport and Steam Early Access, the launch trailer for SpellPunk VR - from Incineration Productions - features players’ full-body avatars not only using their hands for offensive attacks, but defensive maneuvers and strategies as well. Obviosuly, while a two-handed spell will likely warrant a greater offensive impact, it could be just as strategic to wield a shield in one hand, while spellcasting with the other - all the while dodging attacks from the other players.
Of course, this isn’t your typical wizarding battle. Rather than fumbling through various spellcasting menus or being the best at hitting hotkeys, players will be drawing up magical spells from thin air. Literally. Drawing up the proper spell in time against a foe who is trying to do the same will be the key to victory, no matter what sort of gameplay style you prefer.
Incineration Productions CEO, Gergana Gruncharova, had this to say about the launch of SpellPunk VR:

SpellPunk VR should also effectively stand out with its comic book-style aesthetics and soundtrack featuring a mix of hip-hop and electronic tracks from feature film and game composer, Penka Kouneva, known for her composition work on titles such as Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, as well as her orchestral work on World of Warcraft: Legion, WoW: Warlords of Draenor, WoW: Cataclysm, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, SC II: Wings of Liberty, and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls.
SpellPunk VR is available now for PC via Steam and Viveport Early Access for $16.99. An all-original SpellPunk comic book is also planned for release at a later date.
