Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that Spider-Man will have his own story and cutscenes when he arrives in Marvel's Avengers.

Although the idea that a character as big as Spider-Man would just arrive in Marvel's Avengers without any story or context might seem a bit weird, Spider-Man's whole involvement with the game is about as weird as it comes.

Not only is he the only piece of content in the whole game exclusive to another platform, but Crystal Dynamics has also been coy about what Peter Parker's involvement even is. We've not even seen the character in full yet, with our best look so far coming from the latest roadmap artwork, which shows his silhouette swinging.

With his exclusivity and lack of any real information since his announcement, it's actually pretty fair to assume that Spider-Man would just be a one-off character without much story impact or reasoning behind him. However, Crystal Dynamics has taken to its Marvel's Avengers Discord to announce that he will have cutscenes and a story.

As reported by MP1st, Crystal Dynamics' Dan Matlack answered a few fan questions about upcoming Marvel's Avengers content, including a question on Spider-Man's inclusion in the game. When asked if Spider-Man will have a story, Matlack said, "Spider-Man is what we call an 'event' so he will have cutscenes and a story for sure".

Referring to Spider-Man as an "event" is arguably one of the main reasons why fans have been so confused about the character's content for some time, as that's the phrase Crystal Dynamics has used for new modes and smaller additions. Taking a look at the most recent roadmap has the announcement of Spider-Man relegated to the section where smaller events and gameplay changes are listed.

Spider-Man wasn't the only thing talked about over on the Marvel's Avengers Discord. Fans also asked about the upcoming Klaw raid, to which Matlack revealed that it would use a mix of new and old environments but be considered a unique mission.
