There has been a great Spider-Man video game and a great Spider-Man film both starring Miles Morales, and since the two are widely adored gamers now have the chance to play the game like they're playing the film.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was a widely acclaimed co-production between Sony Pictures Animation, Marvel Entertainment, and Columbia Pictures and went on to pick up an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. A game focused on Morales arrived a year later courtesy of Insomniac Games and was exclusive to PlayStation. But since the game was ported over to PC modders have been making the game resemble more and more like the stylishly animated movie.

One mod worth highlighting comes from one GuitarthVader who has developed the 'Faithful Animations - Swinging And Traversal Animations Inspired By Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse' mod. And it is very well done.

The mod adds new swing intros, kicks, wallruns, webzips, wallcrawl idle animations, among a bunch of other cool new tricks to bring Insomniac's Miles Morales closer to the web slinging animations we saw in Into the Spider-Verse. It's a modular mod as well so players can choose which (or all) of the animations they want to add into their base game.

From the video above you can see the modder has painstakingly recreated many of the unique movements that Miles pulls off in the movie, with the Brooklyn resident (as seen in the film) displaying his character and personality even through his Spidey movements. The modder has put a lot of thought into his creation and the variety of jump tricks and web releases means players will see some incredible combos.

"This means that there is now greater variety between the jump tricks and web releases as opposed to its vanilla counterparts which were all similar in motion," the modder writes. "With how this is made, you will be getting different kinds of animations playing when you jump or release from a swing on different height levels."

The 'Faithful Animations' mod, developed by GuitarthVader, can be found on Nexus Mods here.
