Marvel’s Spider-Man continues to make headlines and increase fan anticipation as its release date of September 7th approaches. Initial reports from last year’s E3 Sony Playstation Media Showcase confirmed that the PS4 exclusive would feature multiple suits available for the web-slinger. It has also been confirmed that three of the alternate spidey-suits will be included with all pre-orders.

But for those who prefer not to pre-order the game, Insomniac Games has revealed that the pre-order bonus suits will still be available in-game for all players. Additionally, while post-launch content for the “The City That Never Sleeps” storyline will be included with the Digital Deluxe Edition and the Collector’s Edition of the game, it has been announced that the three-part episodic missions will still be available as DLC for those that purchase the regular edition.

Any of the three game editions will come with the pre-order bonuses of a Spider-Drone gadget, an extra skill point to be used for upgrades, a PSN avatar, a PlayStation 4 theme designed by Marvel Comics artist, Adi Granov, in addition to the three extra Spider-Man suits. The Spider-Punk suit is the only one that has been revealed thus far, with the two other suit reveals planned for later this summer.

Besides a pass for the post-launch DLC, the Digital Deluxe Edition will come with a physical pin of Spider-Man. The Collector's Edition will include everything from the Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as a Steelbook case, a miniature artbook, and a statue of Spider-Man, the finite details of which have not yet been revealed.

In an interview with Game Informer, Insomniac Games’ Creative Director, Bryan Intihar, also indicated that the game will not include any microtransactions. In fact, when asked whether microtransactions would be included, Intihar responded with a firm, “Hell No.”

This is all very exciting news, especially for those of us who have been burned before from pre-ordering highly anticipated games that failed to deliver (We’re looking at you No Man’s Sky and Sea Of Thieves). At any rate, Marvel’s Spider-Man will likely only continue to impress as its release date gets closer, especially considering that Insomniac has already hinted at releasing more details at the upcoming E3 conference in June.
