Spider-Man Spoilers: Voice Actor Leaks Fan-Favorite Villain's Appearance

Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 is one of the most anticipated games of the year. Back at E3, the game was featured in a part gameplay, part cinematic trailer. It featured the appearances of Electro, Rhino, Scorpion, Vulture, and Mister Negative. A mysterious, unseen villain appeared at the end, with Spider-Man saying, "Wait, you?" We may have a confirmation of who this villain is. At the very least, an interview may have revealed another antagonist in the game.

YouTube user Drift0r interviewed one of the voice actors for the game, Chris Jai Alex. Alex voices Rhino, and in the interview, he brings up Doctor Octopus. The original video has been taken down, but YouTube user Rick Grimes captured the eight second snippet of the part where Alex mentions Doc Ock.

"...the fight scene was particularly hard because everyone scaled differently, you know Doctor Octopus is really tall..." Alex says in the snippet. Insomniac has not officially confirmed Doc Ock, and if the villain really is the mystery character, the company wouldn't want to confirm his appearance. But, with what sounds like a leak thanks to the interview, many people have the knowledge now. Doc Ock appearing does make sense. Five major villains appeared in the E3 trailer, and four of those are classic Sinister Six members. In the comics, Dock Ock formed the Sinister Six, so his appearing would not be a total surprise.

On the flip side, there is no confirmation that Doc Ock is the mystery antagonist. It could be that he plays the role as a secondary villain.  The only thing we know for certain is that Spider-Man recognizes the mystery antagonist.

Doctor Octopus is no stranger to video games. He was the major antagonist alongside Carnage in 2000's Spider-Man for PlayStation, which is still the highest rated Spider-Man game on Metacritic. Of course, the doctor was the antagonist in the Spider-Man 2 movie tie-in game. More recently, he appeared in 2011's Edge of Time, where he merged with Walker Sloan and Anti-Venom. In a little over two months, we will know exactly what kind of role Dock Ock may have in the new game.
