At the end of today's Nintendo Direct, they announced Splatoon 3. The trailer opened up in a desert area. The player gets to customize their squid kid before hopping on a train somewhere. The next scene shows the squid kid in the typical cityscape that Splatoon players are accustomed to seeing. Finally, Nintendo showed off one of the new maps, which takes place in the desert, post-apocalyptic area shown at the beginning of the trailer. The game will release sometime in 2022.
