Square Enix this week filed a trademark for "The Isle Dragon Roars," and it's currently awaiting final approval and examination. A public statement is yet to be made regarding the filing, although fans were quick to get the rumor mill up and running.

The trademark – filed on February 3 and currently awaiting an expedited examination – is filed under Classes 9 and 41. These categories are both incredibly comprehensive, but they encompass "computer game software" and "video game software." Class 41 also deals with animated cartoons, novels, and feature-length films, so it's difficult to say this latest trademark is for an upcoming video game.

Still, that seems to be the most likely case – and fans are ready to start speculating.

Many believe this could be the subtitle for the upcoming Bravely Default 2. The game has been oddly quiet on the marketing front, and the company might be planning a media blitz in the weeks leading up to launch – including a subtitle reveal.

Others think this is highly unlikely, as the game is set to launch in just a few weeks on February 26. Instead, they want "The Isle Dragon Roars" to belong to some upcoming Final Fantasy 14 or Dragon Quest content. Until more info is made public by Square Enix, expect to see these wild rumors floating around the internet.

For now, we'll just have to be patient.
