Square somehow managed to wrangler Tom Holland and Hannibal Buress into doing a commercial for them. Also, Holland wields an enormous sword that even he has trouble lifting.

Most of us know Tom Holland as The Incredible Spider-Man from Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Avengers film franchise. But do any of us know Tom Holland, the gamer? That’s the surprising tidbit we can all glean from the latest advertisement for Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers.

The third expansion to Square’s MMORPG, Shadowbringers will have players travel to a new world that is somehow drowning in light. Instead of being a Warrior of Light, now the player is the Warrior of Darkness trying to bring a bit of shade to this terrifyingly bright world.

Which also explains Holland’s obsession with training to become a Warrior of Darkness himself.

In the minute-long ad, Holland is seen doing pushups, pull-ups, sofa chest presses that combine the weight of a sitting Hannibal Buress, and meditation where Holland says he "must become the darkness. All the while, Buress criticizes his training regimen and recommends that he instead just play the game.

Also, despite Holland’s obvious physical prowess, he’s still only barely able to wield a Final Fantasy Buster Sword. Which should put a damper on all you Cloud cosplayers.

Those more interested in Final Fantasy XIV than Holland's hot bod might be interested to know that Shadowbringers will bring a host of changes to the game, including new crafting updates, a refined UI, and easier to unlock crafting recipes. There will also be two new jobs: the Gunbreaker tank and the Dancer ranged DPS.

Two new races will appear with the Viera and Hrothgar (which are basically the Ronso from Final Fantasy X), while all classes will receive new traits and actions. There's even going to be a new raid that crosses Final Fantasy with NieR: Automata called “YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse.”

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers drops on July 2nd, which gives people plenty of time to prepare. There’s also a free trial up to level 35 if you’re on the fence about FFXIV. With 16 million players, now’s the best time ever to jump into the game.
