The Founder's Edition of Google Stadia is due to be released in a few days and there is a notable omission from the launch line-up of games, as one of the biggest titles of 2019 would have really helped show off the promised power of Stadia.

Google has promoted the Stadia steaming service as being capable of running games like Final Fantasy XV and Tom Clancy's The Divison 2but the line-up of launch games is surprisingly small and only has one exclusive in the bunch. The people who purchase the Founder's Edition of Stadia will receive a free copy of Destiny 2: The Collection and it will be possible to purchase, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Gylt, Just Dance 2020, Kine, Mortal Kombat 11, Red Dead Redemption 2, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Samurai Shodown, Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Thumper, and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. The only games out of the bunch that are interesting are Gylt, as it's the only Stadia exclusive, and Red Dead Redemption 2, as it might be the most taxing game of the launch line-up and can show off the power of Stadia.

The game that would have really helped Stadia at launch is Call of Duty: Modern WarfareActivision has asked fans to make sure that they have 175 GB free for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, making it one of the biggest games in terms of file size on the market. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the best-looking games of 2019 and it can be pretty demanding in terms of hardware.

If Google Stadia had launched with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in its line-up, then it could have really shown off the power of the service. A version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare that can be played on the highest settings on a multitude of devices with no waiting for installs would be incredible to see.

The launch line-up of Google Stadia will only be available to those who purchase the Founder's Edition and it's possible that the general release version of the service will have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare when it launches in 2020. The paltry selection of games available to those who bought the Founder's Edition will do little to show off the power of Stadia, especially as the true test of the service will come when the general public has access to it.
