It is hard to think about the game at all without a release date, but the developers have revealed that it is set to make an appearance in 2021. This might seem ominous, and there is always a chance they could still push it back, but it is a start seeing as not much has been known about the game until recently. No month has been stated at this time, so make sure to be on the lookout for the official release date.

This game will once again take place in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone with a post-apocalyptic vibe, and it really comes as no surprise seeing as this is the basis for the entire game. There will be new areas to explore, but they have also included some from the past games as well. The graphics will bring it to life in new ways and make new and old fans crave to have this game made available to them.

8 Female Stalkers Will Be Added

One of the complaints that many had about the previous three games in the franchise is the lack of female stalkers, but that is all about to change. They are now going to add female stalkers, even if they are not the protagonist, and this fact alone will set it apart from the rest, even if it does go against the gender norm for this area and time period. It will be interesting to see if their gender plays a part in this game, or if they will be like all of the other male NPCs that you encounter.

7 It's An Open World

One major change from the other Stalker games is that this will be a true open world game. The previous installment in the series was as close as you can get to an open world without actually being one.

They have decided to make modding easy for players to accomplish, even if they aren't the best at it or have never tried it before. It will make for an interesting game as half the fun will be the game itself, and the other half will be playing with the various mods that other players have come up with in the first week.

3 They Want It To Be As Immersive As Possible

Realistic play in Stalker 2

The goal of this game is to be as realistic and immersive as possible to really give players the experience of a lifetime. One look at the teaser trailer and you can already see how true this is as it puts you in the shoes of the character you are controlling in the game. A chill will be creeping up your spine from the creepy music and dark hallways, which already means this game is successful in this venture.

2 New Mutants And Artifacts Are Included

Mutant in Stalker 2

A new Stalker game wouldn't be complete without the addition of new mutants and artifacts. They give you a glimpse of a mutant in the teaser trailer, but it will be exciting to see what exactly they come up with, and hopefully, they are as terrifying as those in Fallout 4. Imaginations are also running wild with thoughts of what perks each new artifact will give to players.

Stalker: Call of Pripyat

You don't technically have to play the previous games in the franchise in order to understand what is happening, but you really should. You won't fully grasp the story or the concept of the game unless you start at the beginning if you want to have the most enjoyable experience. It is meant to be immersive but it is hard to be sucked into the gameplay when you are struggling to figure out what exactly is going on.
