Star Wars: Andor just got a new trailer and also a delay. Originally set to release on Disney’s streaming service August 31, Star Wars: Andor will now begin with a three-episode premiere on September 21.

Disney didn’t say why they’d decided to delay Andor, but it could have something to do with the coming release of She-Hulk, which begins airing on August 17. Starting Andor on August 31 would create some overlap, possibly indicating Disney is trying to spread its release schedule to cover as many gaps as possible.

In addition to the delay, Disney also presented us with a brand-new trailer showing a much darker take on the Star Wars universe. Andor takes place five years before the Death Star plans are stolen, but even back then, the Empire was an oppressive presence in the everyday lives of most galactic citizens. Oppression breeds dissent, with much of the trailer’s opening moments filled by Luthen Rael (played by Stellan Skarsgård) and Saw Garrera (played by Forest Whitaker, who you might recognize from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) recruiting people to the nascent rebellion.

One of those figures includes Cassian Andor (portrayed by Diego Luna of Netflix’s Narcos fame). The rebel spy first appeared in Rogue One, but Andor will show his transformation from “self-serving nihilist” to “a selfless martyr.”

Whereas the Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian are Star Wars versions of a cowboy procedural, Star Wars: Andor appears to be more like a spy thriller. Andor goes undercover, infiltrating the ranks of the Imperial armed forces in order to send information to the rebellion, which is still very much an underground movement. However, the rebellion does seem to have allies in high places, as one senator seems to doubt the Empire’s motivations.

Star Wars: Andor arrives on Disney+ on September 21.

Those waiting for the Knights of the Old Republic remake from Aspyr might be waiting a very long time. According to a new report, Aspyr fired two of the game's directors and has indefinitely shelved the project. Apparently a "vertical slice" prototype failed to impress either Lucasfilm or Sony, leading to the abrupt dismissals.
