Electronic Arts has officially announced that the next season of Star Wars: Battlefront II will be a Han Solo season.
Players are speculating about what content may be coming with the update, but details are still under wraps with Electronic Arts saying,"Details to come out of Hyperspace next week."
As the Star Wars universe is historically tied together in regards to movie releases and expansions for the games, it is easy to draw the parallel between the upcoming May 25th release of Solo, with the Han Solo season coming to Star Wars: Battlefront II.
In 2016, Star Wars: Battlefront saw new content when Rogue One was released. During that expansion, players were able to play as Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic, and new maps were created to be the locations that were shown in the film.
While not yet confirmed, it is safe to assume that players will be seeing something similar to what occurred in 2016.
This is the first major release for Star Wars: Battlefront II since the game's release in November 2017, and the eleventh hour pull out of micro-transactions. Earlier in April EA's Chief Design Officer, Patrick Söderlund explained that EA knew that they, "...made some mistakes," in regards to the launch of Star Wars: Battlefront II, and that the situation with the game had had an effect on EA as a company.
In late April EA re-instated the Crystals in Battlefront II, but instead of allowing players to purchase items that would give them an advantage in a game, they adjusted the mechanic so that anything purchased would be purely for aesthetics. In addition, in late March the entire progression system was overhauled for users, changing the way that players earn experience and Star Cards.
There have been many changes to Star Wars: Battlefront II since it was released in November 2017. While there is a lot to speculate about in regards to what changes may be coming with this Han Solo season, players will just have to wait until EA releases more information next week!
