According to an insider, Quantic Dream's Star Wars Eclipse will introduce a brand new race to the Star Wars universe called the Zaraan, and will reportedly focus on a political conflict.

Despite being announced nearly a year ago, we know remarkably little about Star Wars Eclipse, save from the fact that it's being developed by Quantic Dream and will play similarly to other games the studio has worked on, albeit with an action twist. We also know that it's not likely to be released until 2027, reportedly due to people not wanting to work at Quantic Dream following years of allegations about its studio culture, allegations that David Cage has recently denied.

Although it seems that we won't be finding out anything about the game any time soon, Sacred Symbols host Colin Moriarty recently spoke about some of the things he's heard about Eclipse on the most recent episode of his podcast. As reported by VGC, Moriarty mentions several new details, including the fact that it'll focus on political conflict and introduce a new race to the universe.

During the podcast, Moriarty mentioned that he'd seen "materials" describing the game as "Project S", and that the lead character is called Sarah. Sarah is reportedly 30-something and a member of a human-like race, one with an empire called The Zaaran, which is new for the Star Wars universe.

Moriarty also mentions that Eclipse will seemingly be focused on a political conflict, saying, "When Zaraan marry, their nuptials carry interesting military implications as they become one governing unit that works together. This is a problem, because Sarah, a fanatical true believer in the violence and criminality regularly demonstrated by her empire, is married to a character named Xendo, who is a far softer touch. Part of the game seems to revolve around these two characters and their relationship.”

Outside of story details, Moriarty also suggested that Eclipse is barely in production, saying, "This game, as far as I can tell, is not even really in production yet". He also confirmed that the game is being co-written by David Cage and Adam Williams, who previously worked together for Detroit: Become Human.
