Electronic ArtsStar Wars: Jedi Fallen Order has become the fastest-selling franchise game ever, according to a press release from the publishers.

The title, developed by Respawn Entertainment, is as popular as it was expected to be and, within two weeks of its release, has also become EA's highest-selling PC game in its launch window.

Jedi Fallen Order has attracted criticism for its performance on console, admittedly, but the issues aren't likely to be around forever and feedback has been quite positive overall.

The game brings a novel character to the fore in the form of young former Padawan Cal Kestis, the last of his kind following The Emperor's Order 66 seeing to the destruction of the Jedi race. Cal is forced to flee after hiding in plain sight for some time and the game takes you through all of his adventures as he tries to remain out of the Empire's clutches.

"Today Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA), Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm announced that the critically acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the fastest-selling digital launch for a Star Wars game in its first two weeks," EA announced on Tuesday. "The game is also now EA’s top-selling Star Wars title on PC in its initial launch window."

Respawn chief Vince Zampella has also thanked gamers for the support that has brought overwhelming success as it pertains to the recent release.

“On behalf of Respawn and EA, we thank everyone for their support of the studio and the team throughout the development and launch of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Telling a story in the Star Wars galaxy is a dream come true and the reception from the fans has been incredible,” he said. “With the launch of the game, the debut of The Mandalorian and the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, it’s a great time to be a Star Wars fan!”

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It could be obtained from both Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as all major gaming outlets.
