Dagan Gera is back! Unsurprisingly, you are going to tangle with this sullen self-starter more than once in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. While Dagan has an attack or two that is pretty familiar, he has a whole host of new techniques that help make him a far more dangerous foe. Hell, it goes further than attacks, Gera comes into this fight equipped with two more stances.

However, while this battle can be quite tricky, we will help point you in the direction of all the useful tactics you will need for dismantling this fearsome foe's ferocious attacks.

Dagan Gera Boss Fight

This time Dagan will have two new stances he can take advantage of. The duel lightsaber stance and the double-bladed lightsaber stance. Both of these stances help Dagan lay into you with extended combos. While Dagan still has a number of thrusting attacks, most of his lightsaber swings are sweeping attacks. So, unlike your first encounter with this sullen Jedi, side-stepping won't be quite as useful (though it still does play a role in this fight), you are going to be forced to do quite a lot of parrying to ward off these horizontal attacks. However, the unparryable attacks Dagan does have in his arsenal are extremely linear, so you can sidestep those.

Much like in the first battle, Dagan is always looking to engage up close. So, he is going to be constantly flailing at you from up close. If you get a little distance, Gera has the same dashing attack that he liked using in the first encounter. Though there is a twist this time out. While it is still parryable, he will now follow this attack with an unblockable lightsaber swing. So, after you parry the first strike, you will immediately want to dash away. This follow-up strike is sneaky fast, so, you need to be prepared to dash.

It is worth noting that Dagan also still has his unparryable plunging attack. The one where he jumps into the air and brings his lightsaber down on top of you. So, if you see him leap into the air, dodge away, and you will consistently avoid this attack.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Dagan with his lightsaber orbiting him

Dagan Gera's most troublesome attack is in his dual lightsaber stance. He will use The Force to make one of his sabers orbit him. This stifles your own offensive potential while making it easy for him to create extremely difficult-to-block sequences. If you get close to him, the orbiting saber will miss you, but he just needs to take a step backward for you to get sideswiped by it.

So, instead, make nullifying this hovering lightsaber your primary objective. Thankfully, if you parry this lightsaber you will not only stop it, but you will also stagger Dagan. Be proactive with this attack and your life will be far easier.

However, Dagan isn't the only one with new tricks, is he? Cal now has his blaster stance! One fully charges blaster shot will take Dagan's posture down by a very sizable chunk. So, make use of that whenever you do get a little distance. You will also have the staggeringly quick air dash at this point. You will be able to use this to make a quick escape whenever you see Dagan flash red.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor, Shooting Gera with a charged shot

And thus, a strategy emerges. We recommend you primarily fight Dagan using your Blaster stance. Engage Dagan Gera up close and parry his flurry of strikes. You aren't going to be able to get many strikes of your own in, though you will occasionally be able to sneak a quick one in when you repel him with a perfectly timed parry. Your goal is a familiar one: break his posture and deal hefty damage to him. When you see him glowing red, or leaping into the air, hop backward and then air dash away. Now, start pelting Dagan with fully charged blaster shots—or, if you are injured, use this opportunity to heal.

Now, Dagan will either use his charge attack to close the distance, or he will have his one lightsaber orbit him. If he charges at you, block the dash attack then dash away to avoid the follow-up attack (at which point, you should start shooting him your blaster again). If he surrounds himself with the lightsaber, put yourself in its path and parry it. Then engage him in close-quarters combat until you dash away when another unparryable attack is used.

Following this strategy will almost certainly lead to your victory. Especially if you add in things like slowing down time, which is just a fantastic way to both get a heal in and dish out a little extra damage. Stay diligent, and you will most certainly overcome this misguided Jedi. Again.
