Cal Kestis might have his work cut out for him in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. But that doesn't stop him from taking in the sights and sounds of the worlds he travels to. In addition to his noble mission of seeking a safe haven for those persecuted by the Empire, there's plenty to discover out in the wilds of Koboh and Jedha.

The Gorge's Secret is one such Rumor (a.k.a. side quest) Cal can embark upon during his time on Koboh. While it's not consequential to the overall story, but there are rewards that will most certainly make it worth your while.

How To Activate The Side Quest

To keep spoilers at a minimum, you will need to have progressed enough through the main storyline that you now have the ability to glide on Relters and can use Confusion: Major Fauna. You're going to need the help of the wildlife in order to make this trek. At this point, a conversation will become available to you near Pyloon's Saloon that will activate the Rumor.

The particular fellow you need to speak with is actually not inside the Cantina. He's out back standing next to a speeder. He is a Nikto just loitering and waiting for a wandering Jedi to casually walk up to him and strike up a conversation. Once you do, he'll tell you about a hazardous path through the Gorge that will enable you to see the true majesty of Koboh. The rumor/side quest should then be activated for you to track on your map.

Trontoshell lowering head in Jedi Survivor

Do you remember that giant dinosaur creature you saw on your way into the valley on Koboh at the start of the game? That's where you need to be.

You can fast travel to the Southern Reach Meditation point which is the closest to where you need to be for this quest. But you'll need the Force Slam ability, which you don't acquire until later in the story, in order to pull down a metal panel to run across and land on a ledge beneath the Trontoshell.

However, if you haven't progressed far enough in the story to have the Force Slam ability, there's another route you can take. Fast travel to the Derelict Dam Meditation Point, which is a little further away, and hop across the tar pit like you had done before to find yourself on the ledge beneath the Trontoshell beast.

Then use Confusion: Major Fauna to have the beast lower his head. You'll see that there are vines on one of his tusks that you can jump onto. Once he raises his head again, you can jump to a new platform that was originally out of reach.

Finding Your Way Through The Ravine

Cal in the Winding Ravine in Jedi Survivor

When you proceed through the rocky path now presented to you, you'll find that you're in the Winding Ravine. You'll approach a fork in the road. On the left, you can engage in a few environmental puzzles to access some goodies. The right is the path you need to take to complete this Rumor.

You will have to wall run as you follow the path, and you will then find yourself outside with pillars of rock jutting out of the ground.

Instead of heading outside, you can press forward and wall run again around the ravine. This will take you to a dead-end, but it's a ledge with a Priorite shard. So, it's worth checking out if you're collecting Priorite shards in order to buy that mohawk you've been eyeballing at Doma's.

The only way forward is to do more wall running between the pillars and then Force-snag a rope at the end to swing to another mountainous passageway.

As you walk into a clearing, you'll have to battle a Gorocco. Be sure to make use of the boulders lying around in the fight before the beast does. Once you kill the Gorocco, continue on up the path where the creature emerged from.

To save you some time, you may be tempted to scan every inch of the caved-in alcove with scattered materials and lights, but there really isn't anything in there other than more boulders you could use during the Gorocco fight. Ignore it and move on.

You'll reach a ledge with a Relter. Jump on and glide across to the ledge on the far side of the ravine.

Here you'll find a rope you can cut for a shortcut and a chest with the big prize of this side quest, that will ultimately bring it to completion. The treasure is the complete set for the Hunter lightsaber hilt. It's a pretty gnarly design, so find a workbench and try it on for size.

There are other plateaus you can jump to on the other side of the ravine from where the chest is. There are a few hostile critters over there, but you can also acquire a handful of seeds for the garden if you look for green fireflies that mark the spots.
