Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place in the same time period as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

After years of speculation and not being hidden very well, EA and Respawn finally confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a real thing and that it'll be releasing in 2023. We didn't find out too much more about the game from the teaser trailer, aside from a hint that Cal Kestis might end up using a blaster, EA later released some official information that made things much more interesting.

In a press release, EA confirmed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after Fallen Order. It said, "Star Wars Jedi: Survivor picks up five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order. Cal must stay one step ahead of the Empire’s constant pursuit as he begins to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the galaxy."

This is a key bit of information as it reveals to us that Jedi: Survivor takes place in the same timeframe as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Jedi: Fallen Order took place five years after Order 66, while Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place ten years later. By having Jedi: Survivor take place five years after the first game, making it ten years after Order 66, it places itself in the same year as Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Star Wars fans have been calling out for Cal Kestis to make some sort of cameo appearance in the show even before finding out that the sequel takes place at the same time, but it's looking a lot more likely now considering they're in the exact same year. We'll find out if that's true by the time Obi-Wan Kenobi ends.

Interestingly, the reveal trailer actually shows a scene where the Mantis seems to touch down on some kind of desert planet. Although there are a lot of desert planets in Star Wars, the most well-known is of course Tatooine, which is where Obi-Wan Kenobi is hiding in the Disney Plus and in the original trilogy. This could imply that Cal goes to meet Obi-Wan at some point, although that's just speculation.
