You can set the date. Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett will start streaming on Disney Plus on December 29.

In case you haven't got caught up with Mandalorian Season 2, Boba Fett makes a surprise appearance at the end of the season along with Fennec Shand. The two of them take over Jabba's former criminal empire on Tatooine, killing Bib Fortuna and taking the ex-Hutt's massive throne for themselves.

Yes, Boba survives his ordeal with the Sarlacc at the end of Return of the Jedi, although he's shown to be heavily scarred in The Mandalorian. You can read about the canon explanation for his survival in our previous coverage.

Disney released the show's logo and a few details last December. Of course, Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen will both reprise their roles from the Mandalorian, and the show will have Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Robert Rodriguez as executive producers. It'll be set in the same time frame as The Mandalorian, although it's unclear if it'll be directly tied to the series or a more tangential story.

The Book of Boba Fett also put a pause on The Mandalorian, which now won't see its third season until sometime in 2022.

It doesn't look like Boba has changed his ways since becoming the galaxy's most famous bounty hunter, so it should come as no surprise that he also isn't likely to change the name of his ship. Slave-1 is a controversial moniker given its connotations, and a comic released earlier this year seemed to imply Boba had changed its name to "Firespray," however, that's just the model name of the class of ship to which Slave-1 belongs. Boba is not a nice guy, so his ship's name should probably reflect that.

The Book of Boba Fett will air exclusively on Disney Plus starting December 29.
