The arrival of a new month brings on a new slate of free games. Or "free" games to those who subscribe to various gaming services. Microsoft and Sony give out games for their online subscriptions, and Nintendo adds a few NES or SNES games to its service. There's also the various services run by bigger game publishers, like Ubisoft and EA. Those offer an extensive catalog of their past games, as well as day one access to their new releases. Today we're taking a look at what EA has going on in November for its Origin Access subscribers.

Origin Access is of course the name of EA's game subscription service. It's $29.99 a year for the basic plan and $99.99 a year for the Premier membership. Those on the Basic plan get access to EA's extensive back catalog of over 200 games. Premier members get the good stuff, such as early access to the Deluxe Editions of new EA games. There happen to be two big EA releases in November: Need For Speed Heat and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Need For Speed Heat is actually already released on Origin and as its own separate retail product. Origin basic subscribers get a trial version of the game. Premier members get the Deluxe Edition right away.

Later this month, on November 15 to be exact, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will release and hopefully redeem EA's track record with the Star Wars franchise. Specifically, fans are hoping for the game to provide a strong single-player experience with a story that fleshes out an interesting time in the galaxy. Sadly, Origin Premier subscribers don't get early access on this one. That's probably a measure against spoilers. They will still get day one access to the Deluxe Edition, however.

After those two big releases, if subscribers have any time, there will also be several other games added to Origin. They will all drop on the 21st. They are: Little Misfortune, Tropico 6, Mutant Year ZeroSINNER: Sacrifice for Redemption, Tacoma, and For the King.

With the holiday season fast approaching, many gamers will be making wish lists. A subscription service might be a good alternative to just buying one game. Especially if the person in question really enjoys one particular publisher. Then again, some people really prefer physical copies. For those on the fence, a free trial is available for Origin.
