You can only go through the haunted maze so many times before the novelty wears off. With mods, the celebrations can last the whole season. 13 Spooky Dog Costumes
The Spooky Dog Costumes mod adds Halloween spirit to your game in the most adorable way. Each type of dog can be dressed in one of four haunting costumes. Your beloved dog can run around your farm as a witch with its black pointed hat and cape or a ghost with ear holes cut out of its sheet.
You can even dress them as a skeleton and a little pumpkin. This small change to your game is sure to bring delight whenever you come across your four-legged friend.
12 Halloween Scarecrows
There is nothing more disheartening than starting a new day to find that your crops have been eaten. The thief squawks and flies away, then it's time to place some scarecrows. This Halloween Scarecrows mod lets them double up as spooky decorations.
You might recognize the new looks available. Turn your crop defenders into ghosts, skeletons, grinning jack-o-lanterns, or even a coffin with a bat on top. Guard your farm with this team of monsters and pests are sure to fly in the opposite direction.
11 Lunar Disturbances
There is a moon in the world of Stardew Valley, but it doesn't really affect anything that goes on. With the Lunar Disturbances mod, you can change that. The different moon phases have unique effects, such as causing rare items to wash up on the beach, or even causing your crops to grow a bit faster.
In addition to this, the Lunar Disturbances mod adds a Blood Moon. During this time, monsters will spawn more, things cost more, and villagers will be irritated when you interact with them.

9 Horror Rain

Bad weather can create an eerie atmosphere with darkening skies and crashing thunder. The Horror Rain mod takes this to the next level with a simple yet horrifying change. Send red streaks across the sky with apocalyptic blood rain or in a more destructive twist, make acid fall in its place.
This mod doesn't affect gameplay but such a drastic change in natural weather is unnerving. If Mayor Lewis found blood raining down on him, it would be enough to scare his purple pants off.
8 Fishy Blood Moon

On one day of each season, the blood moon will rise. Does it send werewolves howling or vampires scuttling from their coffins? Even better, it attracts new fish! The night before the event you'll receive a mysterious letter from the Wizard letting you know that fish can be found in a new area.
You'll want to prepare your bait and tackle ahead of time so that you can take advantage of this strange phenomenon. If you've chosen to restore the community center, then the Fishy Blood Moon mod is the perfect opportunity to catch some of the fish required.
7 Spooky Scary Creatures
You've decorated your farm for fall and planted your pumpkins, now the whole town is buzzing with excitement as Spirit's Eve grows nearer. There's only one thing spoiling the spine-tingling atmosphere, and that's the wildlife. The squirrels are too cute, the rabbits are too fluffy. This is where the Spooky Scary Creatures mod comes in.
Those rabbits are now slithering snakes and the squirrels are sporting flaming tails. Butterflies have been exchanged for bats and flying eyeballs. No creature is safe from their horror makeover, except the crows; they're creepy enough already.
6 Void Effects
Void items have always had dark energy around them. Void chickens are born from a witch's curse and void essence is gathered from defeated monsters. The Void Effects mod doubles the value of void items, meaning you could make a fortune.
However, there is a catch. Carrying a Void item in your inventory will drain your health and stamina. Feel like snacking on some void mayonnaise? You'll find yourself in a coma for a few days if you do. Avoid these side effects and you can make a profit.
5 They Have No Eyes

The They Have No Eyes mod lets you keep your eyes, but spares no one else — not the skeletons in the mines nor the animals in your barn. Mount your expressionless horse and ride into town to find that the townsfolk are missing their eyes too.
A regular conversation with a friend becomes a hair-raising encounter as you stare back at the blank space where their eyes should be. The effect is ominous and uncanny, and it's enough to make you run back to your farmhouse before sunset.
4 Murdercrows
If you're looking to add some chaos to your game then Murdercrows is a mod you'll enjoy. You can expect murderous crows to attack you in daylight. These crows are out to destroy not only you but your crops, fences, and trees. Your entire farm is at risk, but you're not left unarmed.
This mod turns your scarecrows into fighters. The regular type shoots rocks whilst rarecrows shoot fire. Place your army strategically and defend your farm from a plague of bloodthirsty birds.
3 Abandoned Bride
Next up, we have the Abandoned Bride mod. This mod adds one new NPC, referred to as the Bride. Rather than meeting her immediately, you will hear a mysterious scream coming from the woods, with an equally mysterious woman at the other end.
The Bride comes with fairy long story, with most of it being learned through her dialogue. Overall, the bride has her own interests, events (seven of them!), and relationship route for you to discover.
2 Monster Valley

Download Monster Valley and make sure to speak to everyone in town. They might have been human when you went to bed, but when you wake you'll find that the town is full of monsters! But put your slingshot away and lower your sword, these are your friends. Try looking closer. Robin has sprouted horns through her red hair and sharp teeth fill her smile.
Demon or not, she's just as willing to help you with farm upgrades. Elliot is a merman and Mayor Lewis is a pumpkin. Everyone has been transformed into ghastly creatures. Visit them and see for yourself.
1 Ghost Town
Be warned, this may be the darkest horror mod for Stardew Valley. The residents of Pelican Town have suffered a terrible fate. You're the only person left living and so the townspeople remain where they died, leaving their corpses behind as they carry out their ghostly business.
Ghost Town is genuinely disturbing and is possibly the spookiest Stardew Valley mod. It could have been considered mild if not for the bodies scattered around, reminding you of the horrible ways everyone became ghosts in the first place.
