In Stardew Valley, there are tons of quests for you to complete. Additionally, you can find the Special Order Board. This board will have special orders on it that are put in by the residents of the town and are often more complex than other quests.

Here, we are going to take a look at every special order, as well as how to complete it. This will also go over tips for orders that may be a bit more difficult to complete. First, let's take a look at how to unlock this board.

We've updated some of the information in this guide, making it easier for you to find what you are looking for.

How To Unlock The Special Order Board

On the second day of Fall during the first year, the special orders board will be put up. You can find it directly in front of the mayor's house, which is circled in the image above.

Right after the board is installed, you can start accepting special orders. Two will be presented at a time, but you will only be able to pick one a week.

Every Monday, the board will display new quests. If you already have a quest active, you can accept another one. Be sure you can finish them both though!

If you want a specific quest, you can wait a week or two to see if it appears.

Islands Ingredients

Island Ingredients is a simple quest that requires you to harvest 100 pieces of a tropical crop that are native to Ginger Island. You will have to harvest ginger, taro root, or pineapple for the quest, but they can't mix and match them. The reward is gold and a solar panel that can generate batteries.

This quest is best accomplished by planting seeds on either the island farm or in your greenhouse. Caroline will specify which crop you will need to gather; unfortunately, you can't pick the one that's easiest for you to grow.

Community Clean-up

Community Clean-up is a quest given by Linus, who is tired of taking a bath in dirty water. He will commission you to fish up 20 pieces of trash and then place them into the recycling box above the train tracks. This quest can be done by fishing at any in-game location at any time.

This quest works with crab pots as well. Try placing a bunch of crab pots in a small body of water (on your farm, for example) with no bait inside.

The pond on your farm usually has more trash than fish, making this a great place to build up your trash collection.

Cave Patrol

In Cave Patrol, you will be given a full week to slay 50 monsters. The monster is determined at random by the game and can be bats, skeletons, grubs, or dust sprites.

By exploring the Mines north of town, you can find the monsters that you are looking for. Below, you can see a quick reference for the floors of each monster.

• Bats: Any Floor
• Dust Sprites: Floors 41 to 79
• Skeletons: Floors 71 to 79
• Grubs: Floors 15 to 29
  • You can also find grubs in the Mutant Bug Lair

To quickly complete this, we suggest running through the applicable floors searching for enemies, and heading down if there are none. Once you reach the lowest floor that they can appear on, head back to the entrance, and then start again.

Aquatic Overpopulation

This is given by Demetrius, who needs help thinning out the local population of fish. He will send you to catch ten of some kind of fish. The quest rewards you with a farm computer recipe and gold for the fish captured.

Rock Rejuvenation

Rock Rejuvenation is given by Emily, who needs a collection of gems to do a ceremony. Emily will need to be given an amethyst, a topaz, an emerald, a jade, and a ruby. Most of these items can easily be found in Skull Cavern or Volcano Dungeon on high-luck days.

These materials can be gathered beforehand. This means that if you have one of these gems lying around, you can give it to Emily. If this quest has not appeared on the board yet, be sure to save one of each gem!

Gifts for George

Gifts for George is requested by Evelyn, who wants her husband to know that others care about him. This commission is only available in the spring as it requires you to gather 12 leeks from foraging.

Leeks are a common foraging item during the Spring. As this quest is only available during the Spring, you should have no problem exploring the valley to find 12 leeks.

The most common place to find leeks is in the Backwoods. This is the area above your farm that leads to Robin's house.

Biome Balance

Biome Balance is given by Demetrius, who is worried about the water biomes of the area. He will task you with capturing 20 fish from a particular source. You will receive 1,500 gold along with a farm computer recipe that gives stats about your land.

You may have noticed that this is pretty much the same quest as Aquatic Overpopulation. Biome Balance is a bit easier to complete, as you don't have to catch a specific species of fish.

Fragments of the Past

This is a super simple quest that is put up by Gunther. You simply need to kill skeletons and gather 100 bone fragments to take to the Museum. Once this is done, you will get a bone mill recipe in the mail and 1,500 gold.

Skeletons appear on floors 71 to 79 of the mines.

These fragments also drop from Bone Nodes on Ginger Island within the Dig Site. If you have this tropical island unlocked, be sure to head here to collect some fragments!

Gus' Famous Omelet

This is given out by Gus, who needs you to harvest 24 eggs from chickens within 14 days so that he can make a ginormous and delicious omelet. You will need to deliver the eggs to the tavern fridge to get the reward, and this will earn you 3,000 gold, a mini-fridge, and a cutscene.

The eggs can be of any color and from any animal.

Crop Order

Crop Order can appear in any season but Winter and is given by Mayor Lewis. For this order, you must grow and ship 100 crops for 28 days to pass in order to earn the rewards. You will also earn 50 percent of the crop value and a mini-shipping bin.

The island farm and greenhouse are a great way to plant multi-yield crops for fast harvesting. Be sure to also stock up on a fertilizer that speeds up crop growth. It's also important to note that the crops must be grown when the quest is active.

The Strong Stuff

The Strong Stuff is given by Pam, who wants you to brew 12 potatoes into juice. This quest will only appear in spring and requires kegs, which turn potatoes into juice.

Potatoes are single-yield crops so be sure to plant 12 different plants.

Like many other quests, the juice will only count if it's collected from the keg while the quest is active.

Pierre's Prime Produce

Pierre's Prime Produce is meant to help Pierre try to make even more money. He needs you to grow and then deliver 25 gold star crops to the store for him to try and sell.

Using fertilizer can help to increase the chances of gold-star crops. Thankfully, the crop is not specified, so you can choose whatever you have the most seeds for.

Although Iridium is better than Gold quality, you will not be able to complete this quest with Iridium crops.

Robin's Project

Robin mentions a hardwood bed when the board is first added in year one. This commission follows through on that by requiring you to harvest and deliver 80 hardwood.

The best way to do this is by keeping hardwood trees growing on your farm at all times. You can also find Mahogany Trees on Ginger Island and stumps in the Secret Woods, both of which yield hardwood.

Robin's Resource Rush

Robin will put up a notice that challenges you to harvest 1,000 pieces of wood or stone in a week. Thankfully, you get to keep the wood, but hardwood doesn't count. The reward is a stone chest recipe and 2,500 gold.

Interestingly, the wood or stone can be purchased from Robin. The quarry is a great place to gather stone, but if you are a frequent mine explorer, you may have plenty of stone saved.

If you are tasked with bringing wood, head to the Cindersap Forest and get to chopping. If you are feeling extra chaotic, you can lay down some bombs in the forest, which knock over several trees at a time.

Tropical Fish

Tropical Fish won't unlock until after you have built the resort on Ginger Island. For this quest, you will have to fish around on the island to catch five Discus, five Stingray, and five Lionfish. Below, you can check out a quick reference of where to find each of the fish needed.

• Stingray: Fished inside Pirate Cove
• Blue Discus: Fished from any freshwater source (this excludes the Ocean)
• Lionfish: Fished from any ocean surrounding the island

Juicy Bugs Wanted!

Juicy Bugs Wanted requires you to retrieve bug meat for Willy to use as bait. You'll need to collect one hundred bug meat and then deliver them to the docks.

This simple request will earn you a cutscene on the beach, a quality bobber, and 5,000 gold.

A Curious Substance

A Curious Substance is requested by the Wizard and will require you to fight ghosts. You will have seven days to kill ghosts in order to get them to drop ectoplasm.

Ghosts will appear throughout the Skull Cavern and on floors 51 to 79 of the mines. After delivering the item to the Wizard, you will receive 2,500 gold and a mini-obelisk recipe.

Prismatic Jelly

This is another quest given by the Wizard. This time you will have seven days to wander the mine looking for a color-changing slime to kill for its prismatic jelly. The quest awards you with 5,000 gold and a monster musk recipe.

Prismatic slimes will only appear when this quest is active, so you won't run into them any other time.
