Golden coconuts can be hard to find, especially, it feels like, when you need them the most. In this guide, we are going to go over everything you need to know about golden coconuts, including what they are and how to find them.

What Are Golden Coconuts

Golden coconuts are similar to geodes and artifact troves. When you get a golden coconut, you can bring it to Clint to have it cracked open. Like other geodes, it will cost 25g to have Clint open it for you. You cannot open a golden coconut with the geode crusher.

Below, you can find all the items that a golden coconut may contain.

Golden Helmet

* The first golden coconut that you crack will always contain a golden walnut.

After the first coconut, you will have a 1/7 chance to find all items except the Golden Helmet. This is a little more difficult to get, with a 1/20 chance of finding it. If you already have the Golden Helmet, then you have no chance of finding another one. Before you find the Golden Helmet, the odds for the other items are a tiny bit different, too (about 19/140, which is very close to 20/140, or 1/7).

Now that we know what golden coconuts contain, let's look at how to get them.

How To Find Golden Coconuts

Golden coconuts are primarily found on Ginger Island. If you don't have this area unlocked yet, you will need to complete the Community Center (or Joja Community Development Form) and repair the boat to Ginger Island.

Once you are at Ginger island, there are a few different ways to get a golden coconut. You can find the methods below.

Shaking Palm Trees

Palm trees on Ginger Island will have a small chance to drop a golden coconut.

When walking around the island, you may notice that some trees will have coconuts on them. If you shake the tree, a golden coconut may drop at the same time as the normal coconut.

Artifact Spots

All artifact spots on Ginger Island have a chance to give you a golden coconut. Use your hoe on the bits of ground with wiggly sticks popping out.

Overall, each artifact spot on Ginger Island has a 10% chance to produce a golden coconut. This chance will go up slightly if you have already cracked open a golden coconut.

Fish Ponds

Golden coconuts also have a chance to be produced in a fish pond filled with at least nine Blue Discus.

This is a fish that can be found in ponds or rivers on Ginger Island during any time of day and all types of weather. With nine of these fish in your pond, there is a 5% chance each day that they'll produce a golden coconut.

Island Trader

Lastly, you can exchange ten normal coconuts for one golden coconut at the Island Trader.

The Island Trader can be unlocked for 10 golden walnuts after you have already purchased the Island Farmhouse. This merchant will appear in the area directly to the north of the beach where Willy's boat is.

Making Clothes With A Golden Coconut

Golden coconuts are meant to be cracked open, but you can also use them to tailor clothes. Using one golden coconut and cloth at a sewing machine will create the Island Bikini. This is a cute bikini that can be dyed.

Since golden coconuts are rare, you should wait until you have the items all you want from cracking open coconuts before making this. Once you have all the items, make the Island Bikini!
