Stardew Valley has always brought real life together with the whimsical. While you can farm exactly how you would in real life, you can also fight off monsters, help the spirits of the land, and experience a lot of magic throughout the valley, as well as the nearby desert and island.

Since the game is a life simulator, there are many items we are able to recognize that you might actually find in your life. There are others, though, that are entirely fictional and sometimes magical, and we’d love to be able to get them in real life too.

10 Magic Cowboy Hat/Turban

The shop of the desert trader, which is selling a butterfly hutch, a green turban, a magic cowboy hat, and a birch double bed

While this item is merely a cosmetic one, it’s still really cool. You can find both of them at the desert trader depending on when you visit, and they both cost the same amount. Once you buy them, you can wear them and watch as they continuously change colors, gradually shifting through the different colors of the rainbow.

Though there are already some hats in real life that have lights that could do the same thing, they all run on battery power, and they are all very bright. This would be the fabric itself changing color, and would just be your own piece of magic to carry and wear around.

9 Cookout Kit

The cookout kit is a handy tool for those who like to cook a lot in game, whether it’s to try and get some of the buffs or you just want to make some of the strange food items available. It will instantly create a small cooking fire wherever you are, letting you have full access to the recipes you would have in your kitchen.

Something like this in real life would be super helpful for those who like to picnic or camp, as you only have to bring your ingredients and then have a fully functioning camping stove immediately. It even cleans itself up, as any you place down will be gone the next day.

8 Crystalarium

The Crystalarium might not be for everyone, but for those who are into gems, it’s definitely something that would be great around the house. All you have to do to get it to work is insert any kind of gem or mineral, and it will infinitely replicate that gem without the need for a power source or any other material.

Though we do have lab-grown crystals, which are similar, that’s not something everyone could do in their own homes, giving them as much of that crystal as they want for the price of one.

7 Dinosaur Egg

If you’ve ever wanted to visit Jurassic Park in real life, the dinosaur egg is the way to achieve it. It's a rare item that you can find while fighting the Pepper Rexes in the mines.

These eggs are still completely intact, and putting one in an incubator in a coop will produce your very own dinosaur - and one that’s tamed so it won’t try to kill you with its fire breath. Not only would that hopefully mean the dinosaurs wouldn’t attack like in the Jurassic Park movies, but it would be able to bring all these extinct creatures back to life for us to all see.

6 Mini Obelisk

The mini obelisk is a placeable object that has to be used in pairs. Placing two down on your farm will let you instantly travel back and forth between them. The only downside is, it only works within the confines of your farm.

Even if that rule still applied to them if they were real, it would help out with different tasks around the house. Putting one in the laundry room, perhaps, so that you don’t have to carry all of your laundry across the house. Whatever application you could use it for, it would definitely help make your day easier.

5 Return Scepter

An almost empty chest and inventory highlighting the return scepter and what it does

The return scepter is one of the most expensive things you can buy in the game, but it’s worth every coin. Krobus sells it in his shop, and once you buy it, it will instantly teleport you to your front door from wherever you are, and you don’t consume it upon use.

You could go on walks as far away as you want and instantly return home after, or use it after visiting friends and family. The only downside is, it only works one way, and it doesn’t bring your transportation with you, so you’d have to figure out how to get there without leaving a car behind that you can’t get to later.

4 Junimo Chest

The Junimo chest comes in pairs, as you need to buy two from Mr. Qi’s Walnut Shop to get the true effect. Though it only has nine slots, these slots are accessible from any Junimo chest, as they all connect and share an inventory any more than two still connect to the same inventory, so there is no limit on how many you need.

If they really existed, you could put items in it that you often forget or misplace—keys, phone, wallet—and still be able to get them if you did forget them. Or, you could just keep some necessities on hand to access whenever you need them.

3 Farm Computer

While it might seem normal at first, the farm computer isn’t your average computer. It actually scans the farm and gives you a rundown on some basic stats, including how many crops might be ready to harvest that day, or how many pieces of hay are in your silos. If this was real, it could greatly help out those who do own farms - or even just a backyard garden.

For those that don’t, though, there’s bound to be other stats it could pick up on too—when a room is getting too dirty and needs to be cleaned, maybe, or when you’re beginning to run low on certain foods. It would be great to help you out around the house and smart homes are the future.

2 Fairy Dust

Fairy dust is a rather difficult crafting recipe to find, but it’s absolutely worth the trouble. You can sprinkle it onto any machine and the dust will make it instantly finish whatever it was doing. You could sprinkle it onto any microwave or oven to cook your food in an instant, something that’s great if you’re hungry.

If you’re into tech, it could instantly complete your 3D print instead of waiting for hours. It could probably even instantly update any of your electronics so you can use it immediately when opening it instead of waiting for the update to finish.

1 Warp Totems

A farmer in the forest holding a warp totem for the mountains

There are five different warp totems in Stardew Valley, all of which are linked to a specific region of the game. All you need to do is use one of these totems and you’ll instantly warp to where it’s connected to.

Something like this would be great in real life—imagine getting a warp totem so you can skip the commute to work or school, or even getting ones connected to popular vacation areas so you can just pop in and not have to worry about travel. It would be a great time saver and something that would certainly make life easier.
