The Mayor's Shorts is a fairly easy quest to accept. Simply wait until Summer 3 of the first year, and Lewis will send you mail asking for you to find and return his shorts. It's impossible to miss this quest and there is no time limit.

Where To Find The Mayor's Shorts

Now, where could Mayor Lewis have possibly lost his "shorts"? Well, if you haven't found them yet, they're in an odd location. The mayor's shorts can be found in Marnie's Ranch, more specifically in Marnie's Bedroom.

Marnie lives in her Ranch, which is located west of Pelican Town. You can get there by taking the town's southwestern exit or the farm's south exit. Marnie's room is in the center of the ranch house; you should be able to see the shorts lying on the floor right as you walk into the building.

How To Get Into Marnie's Room

The tricky part is accessing Marnie's Room. If you're not one to talk to all the villagers daily or if you don't distribute gifts that often, you might not be able to access her room right away. You are required to have at least two hearts with Marnie in order to be able to enter her room.

The best way to win her over is to give her gifts. Quests are a bit more difficult because you never know when they'll pop up.

Loved gifts are worth 80 friendship points, liked gifts are worth 45 and neutral gifts are worth 20. Talking to a villager will also grant you 20 friendship points. You need 250 friendship points to gain a heart, therefore you need to get to at least 500 friendship points with Marnie to access her bedroom and get the Mayor's shorts.

What To Give To Marnie
