Stardew Valley 1.5 added in a ton of end-game content, including a huge new area called Ginger Island. On Ginger Island players can find a purple door above the Pirate's Wife that will only open once they have collected 100 golden walnuts.

Once inside, the players will once again meet Mr. Qi, a mysterious character who gives the player access to a new shop and special commissions to earn a currency called Qi gems. The items available in the shop are all one of a kind, and are the most powerful items in the game. Earning them is quite challenging and this guide is here to help you make the best purchases possible.

How To Unlock The Walnut Room

Stardew Valley - Ginger Island - Qi's Walnut Room

The Walnut Room is located on Ginger Island. If you haven't reached Ginger Island yet, you need to finish the Community Center in Pelican Town first. We have a guide to reaching Ginger Island for the first time if you'd like some extra help.

Once you reach Ginger Island, you'll find the door to the Walnut Room on the western beach. To unlock it, you need to collect a grand total of 100 Golden Walnuts, which are hidden in various ways across the island.

How To Earn Qi Gems

Qi Gems are the currency used to purchase items in the Walnut Room. You can't begin to earn them until you've unlocked the Walnut Room itself. Once you've done that, you can earn Qi Gems in three ways:

The Junimo Chest comes in a set of two that can be placed almost anywhere the player choose on the map Both chests are linked, making it possible to access the same items on both farms.

Horse Flute

50 Qi Gems

The Horse Flute is essentially a totem hat warps your horse beside of you whenever it is played.

Hopper

10 Qi Gems

The hopper is able to move items placed inside of it, into the machine or chest that is in front of it.

Enricher

20 Qi Gems

Enrichers can be used to automatically fertilizes the tiles around it.

Pressure Nozzle

20 Qi Gems

The Pressure Nozel can be added onto an existing sprinkler to give it an extra tile of watering room in each direction.

Deconstructor

20 Qi Gems

The Deconstuctor is able to destroy crafted items placed inside of it, but will return the most valuable material used to make the item to the player.

Key to The Town

20 Qi Gems

This is by far one of the most interesting items that a player can get from the shop. This is a key item that goes into the players wallet and allows them to open any door in town, at any given time. This is regardless of shop open and closing hours, friendship also isn't needed to enter rooms when a player posses this key.

Pierre's Missing Stock list

50 Qi Gems

Giving this to Pierre allows him to sell all crop seeds year round. Out-of-season seeds will be 50% more expensive than their in-season prices.

Galaxy Soul

20 Qi Gems

Three Galaxy Souls can be combined in the island forge to make an Infinity weapon, the ultimate weapon type in the game.

Mushroom Tree Seed

5 Qi Gems

The Mushroom Tree Seed can be planted on your farm to grow one of the rare mushroom trees, which produce Red, Purple, and Common Mushrooms when a tapper is used on them.

Magic Bait

5 Qi Gems

Magic bait is able to catch any type of fish regardless on the weather, season, or time of day.

Magic Bait Recipe

20 Qi Gems

This is the recipe for crafting magic bait so that the player can save their Qi Gems for other items.

Qi Seasoning

10 Qi Gems

Qi Seasoning is applied to foods when in the players inventory or fridge automatically. This seasoning guarantees that every dish cooked will be gold star quality.

Qi's Hat

5 Qi Gems

This is the same hat the Mr. Qi wears and it can be equipped by the player after purchase.

Heavy Tapper Recipe

20 Qi Gems

The Heavy Tapper recipe allows players to easily create the item on their farm. The Heavy Tapper is a unique item that will harvest product from trees at twice the speed of a normal tapper.

Hyper Speed-Gro Recipe

30 Qi Gems

This recipe allows the player to make Hyper Speed-Gro, a fertilizer that increases the growth rate of crops by 33%.

Deluxe Fertilizer Recipe

20 Qi Gems

The Deluxe Fertilizer Recipe creates a product that when used on plants has an extremely high chance of giving the player a gold or iridium star crop when harvested.

Hopper Recipe

50 Qi Gems

This recipe allows the player to make infinite Hoppers and create an intricate system of machines on their farm.

Exotic Double Bed

50 Qi Gems

This is an extremely rare furniture item that is a black version of the basic double bed.

Golden Egg

100 Qi Gems

The Golden Egg is a bit different than the other items in the shop because it won't be available right away. To unlock the Golden Egg, players will need to earn the Perfection achievement which means collecting everything in the game. This includes shipping every crop, building all the obelisks, catching every fish, and even crafting every item. There is a tablet in the Walnut Room near the shop that will show the player their current completion rate. Once the task has been finished, players can pick Golden Eggs in the shop as a way to easily hatch golden chickens.

2 Qi Gems

1 Golden Walnut

Qi Gems can be bought with the players remaining golden walnuts. The exchange rate is two Qi gems per walnut. Like with the Golden Egg though, this item won't be available for purchase at first. Qi Gems can only be bought once every parrot has been paid off around the island. After completely unlocking the island, players will have 14 golden walnuts available which can be exchanged for a total of 28 Qi gems.
