Updated March 18, 2024 by Jacqueline Zalace: Still wondering how to complete this early-game quest in Stardew Valley? We've streamlined the steps on how to find the axe, allowing you to follow a step-by-step list to reach the location.

How To Obtain The Quest Robin's Lost Axe

Stardew Valley - Receiving the letter to start the Robin's Lost Axe quest

Like a lot of quests in Stardew Valley, Robin will directly contact you with this quest. On the 11th day of Spring, you will receive mail from Robin asking you to find her lost axe.

She will mention that the last time she used it, she was south of Marnie's ranch. Accepting this quest takes no extra effort since it comes to you! There's no time limit on it, either, so you can take as long as you need to finish it. Just remember that Robin's waiting!

Where Is Robin's Axe?

The area south of Marnie's ranch is pretty big, so let's go over where to find Robin's axe there. From the map above, you can see that the area is large, but the axe will be pretty close to the sewer drain. If you already know where the sewer drain is, just head there and the axe should be in a little clearing directly above it.

If you have never wandered over here, don't worry; we are going to go over the step-by-step path.

  1. From Marnie's Ranch, you will want to head south until you come to the water (not the small pond with a dock, but the river that runs through the forest).
  2. At the top of the water, you should see a small bridge.
  3. Cross the bridge to the small island, then cross the next bridge.
  4. Follow along the path until you have made it across the river.
  5. Head south and veer east, following the edge of the cliff.
  6. The axe should be sitting right in the southeastern part of the forest, just east of where you can pick Spring Onions in the spring.

Overall, the route isn't too difficult, but if you have never been over this way, it's easy to get turned around. Thankfully, once you learn the lay of the land, you can navigate here like a pro in no time.

How To Complete The Quest Robin's Lost Axe

Once you have the axe, head back to Robin. If you finished this quest the same day you received it, just head to Robin's house and return the axe. If you waited a bit before finding her axe, make sure you know where she is.

On Tuesdays, Robin goes to Pierre's General Store. Other than that, she is usually at home, with very few exceptions.

Rewards For Quest Completion

Returning Robin's axe will give you one friendship heart and 250g. Since this quest gives friendship, you will want to complete it before you have max friendship with Robin. If you already have the maximum amount of friendship, then this extra heart won't come in handy.

With that, you have finished Robin's lost axe quest! This is a great way to make friendships and money early in the game since it triggers shortly after you begin. Get out there and complete other quests, finish fixing the Community Center, and head to Ginger Island!
