The Shrine of Illusions is located in the Wizard's basement.

On the map above, you can see the Wizard's Tower circled in Cindersap Forest. Unlike other NPCs in Stardew Valley, you will not be able to enter until you have access to the Community Center. Fortunately, you will unlock the center on Spring 5.

Once the Community Center is unlocked, you will be able to enter the Wizard's Tower. The entrance to the basement will be in the back room. Initially, the basement will be closed off.

If you have unlocked the Witch's Hut, you will also be able to enter the basement from the red portal. This portal can be found inside the hut on the right side. To unlock the Witch's Hut, you will need to complete The Goblin Problem quest.

Now that you have access to the shrine, let's go over what it does.

At the Shrine of Illusion, you will be able to change your name, appearance, favorite thing, gender, and the appearance of your pet. Overall, it's a limited version of the character customization window from the beginning of the game.

Although you can change the appearance of your pet, you cannot change its type. For example, if you picked a cat when starting a game, you will only be able to change the fur color/pattern of your cat.

Changing your name to include an item spawn cheat will yield a few Easter Eggs.

Item spawn cheats only work for players on either mobile or PC. These are spawn codes containing an object ID number. Using one of these codes as your name will result in one of the following random messages.

ConcernedApe: What kind of a name is that? Seems fishy...

Mr. Qi: Easy {{item name}}, huh? I'm disappointed, kid. I thought you wanted to beat this game fair and square?

*Grandpa is shaking his head... 'I built this farm the old-fashioned way, not with unlimited {{item name}}...'

ConcernedApe is mad that you're cheating... ConcernedApe: I'm not actually mad... have fun.

Calling all cars! Calling all cars! We've got [a/an] {{item name}} thief on the loose!

That's all there is to The Shrine of Illusion! It's not very expensive to use, so you can change up your appearance every season. After you change your appearance, be sure to check out our guide on making clothes to match your new look.
