A new mod is allowing players of Stardew Valley to swim in any in-game body of water. The simulated RPG boasts beautiful pixel landscapes with inviting rivers that gamers can now enter to take a refreshing dip.

Based on a earlier mod by Platonymous, the enhanced PC mod titled 'Swim' was created by Aedenthorn, a member of Nexus Mods. The downloadable content allows you to canonball into any pond, river or lake of Pelican Town and indulge in some hidden treasures. The welcomed mod also lets you dive under the water to explore the river beds and wander among the rainbow fish. To begin exploring the undiscovered terrain, users simply have to walk to the edge of the water, hit the J key and watch closely as your character swiftly pops into swimwear.

Whether you're walking along the surface or deep sea diving, gentle ripples of water and bubbles will follow your path adding to the game's elegant design. Diving provides a breath meter that is built based on your characters stamina, giving you a time limit to collect ocean bed treasures including shells and treasure chests. Rainbow fish can engage in swirling dances around you too as you explore underwater.

The mod also gives you a new outfit to wear around your farm as the swimsuit can be worn on land. Fans were delighted to be able to take their exploring into the depths of the ocean; a neat edition to an already visually impressive game. The farming simulation RPG has also been a saving grace for more reserved gamers during lockdown. Many have enjoyed escaping from reality for a few hours to tend to their crops and now they can even have a serene swim.

Developed by Eric Barone and released in 2016, Stardew Valley is the perfect simulation for players who need a break from the adrenaline inducing combat found in mainstream titles. Inspired by the Harvest Moon series, Stardew is an open-ended game that allows you to indulge in simple farm tasks while socializing with the local townsfolk. Players describe Stardew as a relaxing reward after a hard day's work (in real life) and a wonderful platform to play with friends online.

It's a simple addition to an already calming game that pushes its boundaries for more exploration and role play. Stardew Valley is a comforting experience that allows you to take a break from the real world, and now you can go swimming come rain or shine.
