Starfield is getting its own dedicated Direct as part of the Xbox Games Showcase next month. Ordinarily, you'd watch it on Twitch or YouTube, but if you fancy a trip to the cinema so you can sit down with some popcorn and coke, it'll be playing in select screenings thanks to a collaboration with events company Fathom.

As reported by PCGamesN, a trip to the cinema to watch the Starfield Direct will be completely free, and you'll even get a complimentary $10 worth of snacks. However, if you want to get in on the deal, you need to sign up for Xbox Fanfest by May 31. Then you'll be emailed ticket numbers and locations on June 1.

This likely won't be a worldwide event, so if you're in Britain like me, odds are you won't get to bask in the glory of a gigantic Todd Howard as he takes us through Starfield's equally enormous galaxy. That's because Fathom mostly works in North America, but for those who are in the States, you have the chance to watch another stream dedicated to Bethesda's first single-player outing since Fallout 4 on the big screen.

The ticket site itself will go live on June 2 at 7 am PST / 10 am EST, so if you're eligible, signed up, and ready, you'll be able to grab yourself a spot. I'm not sure if you'll be able to flag Starfield Direct on your Letterboxd, though. Maybe just note down 2001: A Space Odyssey or Interstellar. Close enough, eh?

As for what we'll see in the Direct, we aren't sure yet. It's likely Howard will unveil more of the story and gameplay, perhaps diving deeper into the exploration, shipbuilding, and combat, but we don't know - all we can do right now is speculate about what might be there, but it isn't a long wait to find out. The Direct will be held on June 11 at 10 am PST / 1 pm ET, so there are only a few weeks to go. After that, the wait for launch isn't that long either. Starfield comes out on September 6 for Xbox and PC.

Interestingly, we found out thanks to a new ESRB rating that you'll be able to get your space mile-high club points in Starfield. It was initially reported that you can't have sex in the game, but now it appears that you can thanks to some new dialogue that was shared which even hints at our player character using a jetpack during. I doubt they'll show us anything that explicit on the silver screen, but maybe Howard will finally clear the air.
