Steam is one of many digital game distributions platforms that allows players to buy and sell games from the convenience of home. Steam is created by Valve Corporation and is one of the leading distribution platforms that offer a wide variety of games. You can find just about any game on Steam, and unlike purchasing physical copies of games, platforms like Steam have unlimited copies. Though there are situations that lead to games not being on Steam. Sometimes it's due to the lack of interest from users, but sometimes really great and popular games find themselves "de-listed" from Steam. Here are 10 amazing ones you can't play on Steam anymore.

10 R.U.S.E.

R.U.S.E. is an entertaining, though underrated real-time strategy game that was released in 2010. It was available on Steam in 2011 and enjoyed a slowly growing player base until 2016 when the game was suddenly made unavailable. The reason? The license for certain military items in the game had expired and the game's publisher, Ubisoft, decided to not renew said license.

Which resulted in Steam having to pull it from the website. And it wasn't just R.U.S.E. players who were upset and confused about the news, the game's developer, Eugen System, had also been left in the dark as to why the game had been de-listed.

9 Alice: Madness Returns

Alice: Madness Returns is the 2011 sequel to American McGee's Alice. It takes place directly after the first game with the return of Alice Liddel. Living in a home for orphaned children, Alice finds herself back in Wonderland and tasked with finding and stopping the corruption that has been twisting and distorting the land. Through her journey, she also discovers the shocking truth about her past and the fire that claimed the lives of her family.

8 Dragon Age 2

Dragon Age is another game series published by EA, and currently, the only Dragon Age available on Steam is Dragon Age Origins and it's DLC. For a short time, Dragon Age 2 was available on Steam when the game first came out in 2011. However, shortly after, the game was pulled from Steam's website, this time because of Valve.

According to IGN, former EA exec David De Martini stated that Valve pulled Dragon Age 2 from Steam because it went against their "restrictive terms of service" when the game's Legacy DLC was made available for purchase through an in-game store.

6 Prey (2006)

While the 2017 Prey published by Bethesda is on Steam, it is a re-imagined version of the original Prey that came out in 2006.

5 Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus is a first-person shooter and came out earlier this year in February. The 3rd installment in the Metro series, plenty of Steam users were excited about the game and had pre-ordered it.
