The official Steam Deck dock will be releasing in "Spring 2022" Valve has revealed.

Friday marks the official launch of the Steam Deck for those who were lucky enough to pre-order it, but it'll be missing one important piece of kit initially - the dock that allows you to put the Deck onto TVs and monitors. Valve previously confirmed that the dock would be available for purchase separately from the Steam Deck, but didn't give any kind of release date.

As reported by IGN, Valve revealed the release window of the dock when detailing the launch of the Steam Deck. According to them, the dock will be made available for purchase in "late Spring 2022".

As spotted by PCGamesN, the Steam Deck dock was actually briefly made available for wishlisting on the Steam Deck page, revealing its release window as "Spring 2022" before being taken down and reverted to the original page with fewer details and no window. You can still wishlist the dock, but the release window has been scrubbed from the description.

The current page reads, "The official dock props up your Steam Deck while connecting to external displays, wired networking, USB peripherals, and power. You can also use a powered USB-C hub, if you've got one lying around. The official dock will be sold separately. More information coming soon." while the new versions reads, "The official dock will be sold separately. Add it to your Steam Wishlist to get notified when it's available to order. Coming Spring 2022."

Valve also re-confirmed some of the launch details of the Steam Deck, revealing that emails will start going out to reservation holders included in the first wave of shipments at 10am PT/ 1pm ET/ 6pm GMT. Reservation holders will then have 72 hours to purchase their Steam Deck before it's passed on to whoever is next in the queue.

If you're sat eagerly waiting for the Steam Deck, you can now also check the eligibility of your library to see what games will work with the Deck and which are still unverified.
