Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town offers players a fun life-sim where they can build up their grandfather's old farm, as well as build a brand new life with various characters. There are also a number of mini-games hidden throughout the game, though you'll have to unlock them first.

Prerequisite Tasks
Firstly, you need to repair the bridge on the bottom left of your farm in order to access the next farm area. You can do this by using crafting materials or money.
Once that's done, in the northern section of this next area is a new mine (as shown above). This mine has baddies in it that will damage your stamina if they hit you. So be careful of them and hit them with your hammer to get rid of them. You'll also earn an item each time you manage to hit one.
You need to travel to the very bottom level of this mine (Level 30), so conserve your stamina as you'll need it to break rocks to find the next ladder down on many levels. Bring some food with you to recover stamina, or alternatively, the baddies sometimes drop berries when you hit them, so you can always eat those. Having upgraded tools will make navigating through the mines easier, as breaking rocks will be more efficient with better tools.
Once you reach the bottom level, you will be greeted by the Magma Sprite who will reward you by showing you to a new special area — the Lava Caves!
Mining Frenzy Mini-Game
Speak to the Magma Sprite in the Lava Caves to begin the mini-game. You will be transported to another cave where you have a set time limit to destroy rocks in order to earn as many points as possible. Destroying rare rocks earns you more points than normal ones. However, if you run out of stamina before the timer is up, you will receive a penalty.
At the end of the game, you will receive a number of Sprite Coins based on the number of points you managed to earn during Mining Frenzy. These coins can then be spent in the Earth Sprite Village. You do not get to keep the items mined during this mini-game.
Having upgraded tools will make this game a lot easier as you can use charged actions to hit more rocks in one go, as well as dealing more damage with each hit. You can upgrade your tools at Clemens' Tool Shop in town. However, if you have increased your maximum stamina, your additional hearts will not be included in the mini-game.
How to Access the Lava Caves
Once you've gained access to the Lava Caves, you don't need to journey through the mines in order to return again, as you can simply speak to the Navi-Sprite outside of your house to get back to the caves. The Navi-Sprite is also in the Lava Caves to whisk you back to your farm whenever you want as well.
