Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town introduces us to a bustling little tourist destination full of unique characters. There are ten singles wandering around town that you can marry regardless of your gender, but it can be a bit hard to decide who's the best. Fans of the game have had tons of discussion on just where each marriage candidate ranks and which ones they can't stand.

While there are some fun routes in the game, one of which involves a ninja, some others fall pretty flat for most players. Below is every marriage candidate ranked from worst to best, including both those part of the base game and the four added via the two expansion packs that came to Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town.

Updated February 3, 2022, by Jerrad Wyche: The latest update for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town provided players with the 1.1.0 version of the game when it was released on November 29, 2021. In addition to various gameplay fixes, this update added three new post-marriage events for every marriage candidate as well as enabling the DLC candidates to join you for romantic festivals once you're married. Here are the details.

16 Lisette

Lisette Heart Event in SoS

Lisette comes from Harvest Moon: Trio of Towns and is part of the Twilight Isle DLC. Lisette is a florist that can be a little clumsy at times but has a good heart that even allows her to keep faith in the Harvest Goddess.

Lisette's innocent nature can easily win you over if you're looking for a cheerful partner. She enjoys dishes that are made with peaches and has a birthday on Fall Day Five.

15 Felicia

Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive fishing with Felicia Cropped

Felicia is a character from Harvest Moon: A New Beginning. She was included in the Wind Lakeside DLC, where she once again works as a waitress.

She has a huge love for food; in fact, her love is so influential that she's become a well-known food critic. You can easily win her over by gifting her grilled fish or by going the extra mile and using Pescatore. It's important to note that her birthday falls on Spring Day Twenty-One.

14 Ludus

Trio of Towns Ludus heart event

Ludus is another character from Trio of Towns that comes in the Twilight Isle DLC. He is good with construction and has an amazing talent that lets him excel at a large list of tasks, making him a popular member of his hometown.

A major part of his story in ToT was that he doesn't remember a lot about his past. He loves dishes that are made from Bananas and has a birthday on Spring Day 12.

13 Raeger

Story of seasons Raeger Heart Event

Raeger comes from the game Story of Seasons for the Nintendo 3DS and is part of the Terracotta Oasis DLC. Raeger works as a chef to the point that he will put himself in harm's way by not properly taking care of his body. This can be a cause of concern for those who choose to get close to him.

He can be won over with Daifuku dishes and has a birthday on Summer Day Nine. As of November 2021, if you fall in love with Raegar and marry him he'll now be able to join you at romantic festivals, which was once reserved solely for the base game marriage candidates.

12 Iris

Iris talking in PoOT

Iris is another Story of Seasons character that is part of the Terracotta Oasis DLC. She has a passion for writing that has led her to write several books, and she is one of the more level-headed characters in the series. She is always happy to look for new inspiration for her stories.

Iris has a fondness for cherries and her birthday is on Fall Day Six. If you happen to marry her, the newest update to the game allows you to take her to romantic festivals.

11 Neil

Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town Neil and some chickens Cropped

Neil also comes from A New Beginning and is part of the Wind Lakeside DLC. Neil loves animals more than anything and can often be found caring for them in the game, but he is famous for his shy demeanor. He can be won over with animal products like milk and has a birthday on Winter Day Nine.

Neil is easily the best marriage candidate out of the four that were added via the expansion packs for the game, and a new update allows a married version of the blonde introvert to now join his spouse on romantic events.

10 Jack

Jack

Jack is one of the cashiers at the general store, but he honestly doesn't do a very good job of it. In fact, many players argue that his kid sister is more mature than he is. On the Twenty-Third Day of Spring he ushers in his birthday, so he may gain maturity with each passing Spring.

Also, his salesmanship skills are honestly some of the worst the games have ever seen, although he does admit this. His arc leaves a lot to be desired, especially when it comes to proving why you should marry him.

9 Blaire

Blaire

Blaire is your classic city-obsessed character who thinks her hometown is just way too small. This isn't anything new for the series, but Blaire literally admits that she isn't really smart during one of her heart events, which doesn't come off as funny as it was probably intended.

She also likes to talk about how she is going to be a star one day and loves expensive gifts, especially on her birthday which lands on Fall Day Twenty-Five.

8 Ralph

Ralph

Ralph is the forest ranger of Olive Town, and his arc mainly revolves around his job. There isn't a lot of chemistry coming from his events, and it's randomly brought up that he used to play football. At points, he alludes to high school football being the peak of his life.

He'll likely reminisce about this every Twenty-First Day of Summer, which happens to be his birthday. The way he cares about animals is cute, but Beth accompanying him frequently makes the dates a little awkward.

7 Reina

Reina from Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town

Reina is a candidate who catches most players off guard with her personality. She works and lives in the museum and loves to be gifted artifacts, especially on her birthday, Summer Day Twenty-Eight.

For some reason, she also really likes to party, and her heart scenes all make her seem really ditzy, despite her supposed knowledge. Her friends are the town stylist and hairdresser, which makes her job and loved gifts even more confusing.

6 Damon

Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town Damon, Lars, and player character Cropped

Damon is the cold but secretly kind bachelor of the game. He starts off barely speaking to the player and somewhat warms up to them as time goes on. His heart events are a bit weak, though, especially since it seems like Lars is always involved and the one to convince him to open up to you.

While Damon's last heart event is entertaining, the others are a bit awkward to watch, especially when one of them sounds like the start of a break-up. Luckily for you every Fifteenth Day of Winter is an opportunity to build a closer bond with him, that being the day of his birth.

5 Bridget

Bridgit

Bridget is the game's farm animal-loving marriage candidate but is a little more outgoing than some of the other past candidates with this trope. Don't let her birthday pass you by as it can be easy to miss as it happens early in Fall, specifically on the Third Day.

She eagerly wants to get to know the player, and in one of the earlier scenes even gets dolled up to go to the café with them. Bridget loves animals, doesn't mind working hard, and is happy to try to win the player's heart.

4 Iori

Iori sitting next to the player and and declaring his love

Iori is a bit harder to place than most candidates because his heart events are a mix of sweet and strange. His story has to do with a ninja coming after his life, but he is completely willing to protect the player from danger and eventually begins to truth you with his life.

He also ensures that you can spend time alone together, even though it puts him in more danger than normal. As hardened as he is, it's no surprise his birthday is in the dead of Winter, falling on the Twenty-Eighth day.

3 Linh

Linh in conversation

Linh is a gentle girl who lives in the flower shop and helps run it with her grandfather. She moved from the city and is still getting used to her life in town, celebrating her birthday on the Twelfth Day of Spring.

She has won over the children and often goes out into the forest to search for flowers or to just take a nice nap. Linh is a pleasant candidate that seems genuinely happy to both date the player and get married to them.

2 Emilio

Emilio

Emilio is a fisherman, and his route heavily involves his family, who are incredibly welcoming. The heart scenes with him are just warm, everyone around him wishes you the best, and Emilio is excited to be in a relationship and will do whatever he can to make you happy.

Emilio is a romantic route that has plenty of relationship-building cutscenes. His parents, Marcos and Manuela, gave birth to him in the Summer on the Fifteenth Day.

1 Laura

Laura

Laura loves Olive Town and works full-time as the receptionist for tourists. She helps her family at home with the grocery store and does everything she can to help visitors love her hometown.

She is excited to tell her family about your progressing relationship, and hopefully you celebrating her birthday with her on the Ninth Day of Summer. Her reactions and heart scenes show that she really wants to get to know you and is excited about the relationship in general.
