Poison is a status effect that can be detrimental in Stranded Deep. Getting poisoned is fairly easy since there are plenty of poisonous creatures on islands and in the ocean. However, curing yourself of poison is a difficult task, and one that is actually impossible early in the game.

This guide will cover everything you need to know to cure poison in Stranded Deep, as well as some tips to avoid it early on.

You will know when you have been poisoned, as a message will pop up on the screen to let you know that your character feels ill. To cure poison, you must make an Antidote. This is a medicinal item that you can craft, although you can't make it until you have survived for a while in Stranded Deep.

To craft an Antidote, you must get to Craftsmanship Level 3. When you are crafting level 3, you can use one Pipi plant and one Coconut Flask to make the Antidote.

Pipi Plants can be found on various islands in Stranded Deep. Look around on the ground for short, green plants that you can pick.

Coconut Flasks can be made by combining Lashing, which is made with four fibrous leaves, and a Coconut. Coconuts can be found at the top of Palm Trees, so either climb them or chop them down.

Combine the two ingredients to make the Antidote, which you can then use to cure your poison.

Since you need to be Craftsmanship Level 3 before you can make an Antidote, getting poisoned can be extremely dangerous early in the game. Fortunately, there are some ways to prevent getting ill.

  • If you hear snakes hissing, back away. This is a signal that if you come any closer, a snake might try to bite you. This will inflict poison, which will quickly lead to death.
  • When traveling between islands, always use some sort of raft. If you end up in the water, it's very likely that you will end up bumping into a Sea Snake, Lionfish, Sea Urchin, or Crown of Thorns Starfish. All of these creatures are poisonous in Stranded Deep.
  • Save often so that you have the choice to reload if you are poisoned. Saving is important in any survival game, but if you are poisoned early on in Stranded Deep, you won't be able to recover.
