It's all gone upside down, as Stranger Things and mobile game The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross have crossed over.

Eleven, Jim Hopper, Mike Wheeler, and Will Byers have all joined the anime game and can be collected through the collab pickup draw in Grand Cross. From now until May 11, you'll be able to unlock these characters through the gacha system. If you play through the game and reach enough mileage, you'll gain one of the four Stranger Things heroes. Also, if you log in daily, you'll gain up to 10 Stranger Things Collab Pick-Up Tickets and Part.1 and Part.2 guaranteed SSR tickets.

The game itself is a turn-based RPG adaptation of the popular anime series The Seven Deadly Sins. The well-reviewed adaptation currently has a four-star rating on the Google Play Store with over 470,000 reviews. In fact, the game's so popular that since March 2020, it's seen over 30 million downloads.

Publisher Netmarble says that this is "the franchise's first-ever collaboration featuring live-action characters," so perhaps they have more in mind in the future.

In this update, there's a new world quest that stars the Stranger Things characters and the Upside Down landscape. Meliodas and his friends must work together with the Eggo crew to defeat the Mind Flayer and save the day. Netmarble said that through this event, players can obtain costumes, diamonds, and other limited-time items by completing the quest. In fact, if you finish six missions like the event check-in, the world quest, and the event exchange shop before May 11, you'll have the possibility of getting Jim Hopper for free.

This isn't the first time Stranger Things has guest appeared in a video game. Rocket League hosted a Halloween event called the Haunted Hallows with references to the show in the arena and cosmetics themselves. The Demogorgon also appeared in Dead By Daylight.

Currently, The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross has over 150 characters, 200 costumes, and 200 dramatic scenes. With so much content pulled from the anime, perhaps we should expect Netmarble to pluck characters from other franchises to keep the content rolling.

You can now play The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross on Android and iOS. Our review found the game to be a wonderful addition to the mobile marketplace.
