Stray's digital release is exactly one week away, but if you've got a bit more patience you'll be able to grab a physical edition of the game courtesy of iam8bit.

The company announced a retail version of the game is in the works earlier this month, but finally announced the release date on its official Twitter account. If you want to get a physical copy of Stray on either PS4 or PS5, you'll have to wait a couple more months until September 20. The standard physical edition will be available at most major retailers and will be distributed in Europe as well as the US.

Alongside this announcement, iam8bit also revealed a swanky collector's edition if you really want to showcase your love for the cat game. While not as extravagant as other collector's editions, it does come with a big poster, some art cards, a premium holofoil sleeve for the game itself, and a patch you can stick on your jacket. Unfortunately, this edition is exclusive to the iam8bit store and a specific release date hasn't been confirmed just yet, but pre-orders have already gone live if you want to make sure you get one.

What with Stray clambering ever closer towards it's digital release, we're finally starting to get a bit more information about what the game actually entails. For example, Stray's trophy list was recently revealed and it looks like you'll need to channel your inner cat if you want to get your paws on the platinum. Things you'll need to do for trophies include meowing a certain number of times, scratching something in every chapter, and getting a paper bag stuck on your head.

If you'd like to know even more about Stray before it launches on July 19 for PC, PS4, and PS5, you can read our preview by Stacey Henley who describes the game as an interesting platformer that is "more reliant on its storyline."
