Streamer Daithi De Nogla bent an unopened pack of Pokemon cards live on stream for $50, and there was something worth much more inside.

Streamer Daithi De Nogla will have been left kicking himself after a stunt he pulled during a recent stream. De Nogla received a $50 donation in return for bending a pack of Pokemon cards before opening it. He even let the viewer who made the donation pick the pack. De Nogla then proceeded to bend and twist the pack as much as he possibly could.

The streamer then opened the pack and slowly revealed the cards to the camera one by one. All was well until the cards slipped and De Nogla caught a glimpse of the holographic card at the back of the pack. Even worse, he caught that glimpse while bending the cards even more, proving to his viewers that all of the cards in the pack had a very visible crease running across the middle of them.

De Nogla yelled a profanity at that point as he realized the holographic card he had caught sight of was a shiny VMAX Charizard. A very rare card worth a lot more than the $50 he was paid to effectively render it worthless. Chances are De Nogla will still be able to get some money if he wanted to sell it, but the card will have been significantly devalued by the bends and creases it now has in it.

While it wasn't the hyper rare variant of the card, chances are undamaged it would have been worth hundreds of dollars more than the 50 bucks De Nogla received for bending it. It's also no secret that Charizard has basically been the king of the Pokemon TCG for more than 20 years. Logic recently paid more than $220,000 for a shiny version of the original card.

As Pokemon prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary, Pokemon cards are having a very big spotlight shone on them, upping their value even more. McDonald's will be including special edition Pokemon cards in Happy Meals. However, scalpers have been buying them up ahead of time and selling them online for inflated prices. There will also be a selection of classic cards sold later this year.
